I should add, however, that if you have never been there I think EVERY NHL FAN SHOULD ATTEND AT LEAST ONE GAME ON THE ISLAND so you instantly never complain too much about your home arena. You will be shocked at just how bad it is. I used to think Isles fans just exaggerated and/or joked about how awful their rink was. Then I went there for a Devils/Isles game last year. My opinion now? I actually think that Isles fans UNDERESTIMATE how bad it is....... it's truly God awful in every conceivable manner.

its sad because the fans are dedicated and passionate about the team, despite their long streak of suckiness. my dad always reminisces when we go to games about its glory years and how i dont know what a real playoff game is like compared to their dynasty years. the islanders need a new arena so badly. itd bring in the kinda players thatd draw more fans and make another dangerous team in the ny area. madman wang has some good idea, but theyll NEVER get done. im just sick of all the ranger fans on my island.

Oh, and just as a sidenote to what Harrison Ford said regarding Vrana playing with Holik and Zubrus... I'm happy to hear that, but before we get ahead of ourselves, it was just because Rupp was in the box for his fighting penalty. In his last shift, Vrana was back with Pelley.

I think it's safe to assume at this point that Salmela has a top 6 spot on this team, and I'm extremely excited about that....in fact I haven't been this excited about the devils in a long time. I know it's pre-season, but there's something about this team. And I know I'm not the only one that feels it.

I think that's going to be a tough sell, TG is cranky (as I would be if I was sent to this game).

I've heard mixed reviews on Samela so far...he can't really be worse than Brookbank or the Greene we saw last year so he's got a chance to crack the lineup based on that alone, but it would mean either losing one of them to waivers or keeping two D as healthy scratches which I saw enough of last year (the eight and nine-D lineup).
