ILikeItVeryMuch 09-29-2008, 02:38 PM That was a good show this morning, in fact I have spent all morning listening to Home Ice at work.
Most of the callers agreed with the Brodeur pick, aside from the one guy who had his Top 5 list compiled of Isles goalies. :help:

out of the 14 seasons he played, he had 6 seasons where he was over .500. his stats arent that impressive..i guess one cup goes a long way?

stats aren't everything. He was a super clutch goalie. Not sure what Luongo has done yet to warrant consideration

I was about to say that, Rangers fans may overrate the guy to the moon, but Richter had a period in his career that he was money.
Luongo has yet to achieve anything to warrant being on that list.

He has 5 playoff wins, and the sacred Vezina nomination
martyisgod 09-29-2008, 03:19 PM even though i hate the jersey he wore, i think richter was real good. I dont get how osgood is higher up than him. individual talent wise, i think richter was a lot better than osgood

Lundqvists trophy room is so full from the nominations, I don't know if he can fit another one in there!

Yeah, that's a tad ridiculous. Interesting to see them give props to Osgood, but now that I think about it it's deserved.
CMac17 09-29-2008, 03:39 PM "Best since 1940"... man, that's a looooong time ;)
Richter was pretty ****in awesome. Plus he came back from a split melon.
All hail Marty :yo:
HatTrick89 09-29-2008, 03:46 PM Barasso is way too high...had some good years and that but also really inconsistent throughout his career

I think his international play, especially in the 96 World Cup of Hockey, has a lot to do with that ranking. He was unreal in that tournament.

yes. he was quite good in wendys commercials too. look, from 1993ish-1997ish he was an above average goalie, no question. i just dont think he belongs on a top 30 list. top 40 or 50, absolutely.
but thats what fun about these lists, nobody is ever going to agree on who the best was/is.
