VIEW THE FULL VERSION : GDT Preseason GDT Van @ Ana 9-28 5:05
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 07:56 PM OK, so trawling the Canucks board, it turns out that the game is being webcast on the Canucks site! http://canucks.nhl.tv/team/launch.htm?type=wvod&id=21459&catid=804 It will probably be a stream of the sportsnet-pacific feed, meaning Canucks announcers. You have been warned.
Come watch Teemu's 1st game this season.
Because there's video, I think this game deserves a separate GDT.

Dirk316 09-28-2008, 08:02 PM anyone else getting no sound?
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 08:05 PM Yup, video but no sound. Although with Vancouver announcers, that might actually be preferable.
You could always listen to Carrol and Severyn on AM830.

looks like the sound is on, thanks for the link will help pass time at work.
Dirk316 09-28-2008, 08:11 PM hahaha Krog is in for Vancouver
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 08:21 PM OD fights Bieksa. Feeling the heat from Klee?
Nothing much, OD wrestles Bieksa down without any real punches.
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 08:26 PM Ha. According to the Vancouver guys, Krog rhymes with log and not with vogue.
Sanford vs Levasseur. Clash of the titans.

doubt it, Klee's upside is a #7
MOENing 09-28-2008, 08:38 PM Levasseur good or bad?
Dirk316 09-28-2008, 08:39 PM looks like the refs are still intent on calling bs penalties. Im sure that will bring in ton's of new fans :shakehead
wisconsinducks 09-28-2008, 09:00 PM Thanks for sharing the video link. Nice to see the ducks at the Pond. Yes the refs are calling it tight. How in the world did Pronger get that penalty?
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 09:01 PM Perry scores. Lindstrom throws the puck in the crease, Perry picks it up and outwaits Sanford while skating across the crease.
hahaha Krog is in for Vancouver
What do you expect. This is the same club that thought Shannon could do something, anything.
Levasseur good or bad?
He's had some not-so-good moments. Seems alright though.
Benny Lava 09-28-2008, 09:01 PM Eeeeasy goal for Perry.
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 09:04 PM PP looks dangerous. Perry trying his hand at being the screen/net presence.
They're trying Festerling on the PP? The hell?
The current "checking line" audition appears to be Miller-Marchant-Niedermayer.
Ducks PP again.
Benny Lava 09-28-2008, 09:06 PM More PP time for the Ducks.
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 09:14 PM Wellwood ties it up on a rush. I think they told him there was a hot dog in the net. Mikkelson was the Dman for the 2-1.
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 09:24 PM A couple near goals in the PPs. Perry's empty net shot is deflected by Davidson last PP, not Selanne's shot goes through Sanford and bounces through the crease.
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 09:28 PM 5 on 3 now. C'mon, Ducks!
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 09:29 PM Teemu! Teemu = PP domination.
wisconsinducks 09-28-2008, 09:29 PM Teemu is back!
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 09:33 PM Salo rockets it past Levasseur on the PP. 2-2.
MOENing 09-28-2008, 09:45 PM Teemu! Teemu = PP domination.
I 'm glad teemu is back especially for the powerplay.
wisconsinducks 09-28-2008, 10:01 PM nice check by nieder..
Benny Lava 09-28-2008, 10:02 PM nice check by nieder..
I believe that was Festerling.
wisconsinducks 09-28-2008, 10:03 PM nice screen out on the canucks goal
Hemsky is a gangsta 09-28-2008, 10:04 PM hey, whats goin on with morrison? i picked him up in my fantasy draft when it became apparent selanne was coming back cause i figured he'd put up 65-70 points getting the andy mcdonald treatment. he hasnt played a single game yet, whats going on?

It's preseason, don't worry about it. He'll be in the lineup for opening night. And if you're expecting 65 points, I'd say you're in for a letdown.
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 10:10 PM Yeah, considering that 1 player on the Ducks broke 55 last season... I'm not sure that's a good bet.
The "Andy McDonald" treatment involves being on the 1st line, Selanne (and Morrison) will be on the 2nd line now.
wisconsinducks 09-28-2008, 10:14 PM nice PP = Teemu
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 10:14 PM Teemu with another PP goal. Rebound off of a Pronger slapper. Like I said, PP domination.
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 10:22 PM Getzlaf is a beast. He fights for the puck, gets it to Perry by sheer will. Perry wires it home.
wisconsinducks 09-28-2008, 10:36 PM fight, fight, fight
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 10:39 PM Does Perry being in the box mean he can't be in the SO, or have they not fixed that rule yet?
MOENing 09-28-2008, 10:40 PM what happened with perry my stream went dead.
wisconsinducks 09-28-2008, 10:45 PM Perry did shoot ...but missed
Luongo2008* 09-28-2008, 10:48 PM whoooooooooooo
canucks win
wisconsinducks 09-28-2008, 10:48 PM Ducks played well...too bad they couldn't win it during the shoot out..
When does the regular season start :)... game on!
dburdick 09-28-2008, 10:50 PM Is there a better powerplay in the league than Perry, Getzlaf, Selanne, Pronger and Niedermeyer? Maybe Detroit's big line but that's about it.
Has Perry gotten quicker? He looks much faster than last year.
And how about Selanne. Incredible hands, especially on his second goal. The Ducks are a completely different team with Selanne.

Well detroit has Hossa,Daytsuk,Zetterberg,Lidstrom,Rafalski,Osgood
snarktacular 09-28-2008, 11:01 PM This is why training camp/scrimmages don't mean jack. I see them in person, and LeNeveu sucks donkey balls while Levasseur was miles better (but only passable). And even then, this is just preseason.
Now in consecutive games, LeNeveu was is the one who was much better.
We still suck at shootouts. Getzlaf didn't score, surprise surprise, and pretty much flubbed it. Perry had a decent chance, but Sanford stacked the pads (who does that anymore?) I'm almost tempted to bump that shootout thread.
The Ducks don't have that good of a PP. We were pretty bad last season, and that was including Selanne. The personnel is great (1st line only, the 2nd line sucks with ppl like Rob on it), but they haven't quite produced. And just on paper, both Detroit and Pittsburgh have way better PPs.
I don't think Perry has really been any quicker. He's actually not a slow skater, he's just deliberate most of the time. Well, scratch that. He's not fast, but he can actually accelerate pretty good. So it looked like more of the same to me.

I watched the game and I have to say the skill is there, but the low percentage shots from the outside won't work unless you have somebody screening the goalie. Getzlaf is fantastic at deflecting the puck, but I wouldn't want him standing in front of a slapshot every game.
Good to see Getzlaf and Perry and Selanne as dominant as before.
Randall Graves* 09-29-2008, 01:44 AM The PP should be alot better this year that's for sure, having Selanne and Niedermayer all year will help big time.
Shootouts do not treat us well.
Spankatola Jamnuts 09-29-2008, 04:04 AM Perry's ability to aniticipate plays and players makes him seem quicker than he is.
romelson 09-29-2008, 05:21 AM How is Lindstrom doing? Will he be a duck or a chop?
jax00 09-29-2008, 10:39 AM How is Lindstrom doing? Will he be a duck or a chop?
Seems like he is making a strong case to stay with the big club. He had an excellent game last night.
snarktacular 09-29-2008, 11:58 AM Lindstrom made a number of positive plays. Although you do have to wonder how much of that was the Getzlaf/Perry effect, when he played a few shifts with them. But he did some good stuff without the twins as well. He might add some shootout punch to a known lousy shootout team.
You have to think that if Ryan is sent down for cap reasons, Lindstrom (along with Carter) will be one of the first in line to take the top-6 LW spot.
Randall Graves* 09-29-2008, 04:38 PM Lindstrom will shoot the puck so that could help him land a spot with Getzlaf and Perry IF Ryan has to be sent down.

it's early but looks like morrison has something good going with selanne and the ducks PP unit
