Couldn't they send out the in-house? Might be a pain to synch it with the audio, though, I guess it depends who, if anyone, is working a/v for the game.

I think with this one, they should just push the $10 tickets, ultimately, an open house would have been the best idea (just show up, and we'll let you in, and you can buy some season tickets), but if you can't do that, there's nothing wrong with charity, if they would let anyone know about it.

this would be a perfect way to kick off devilstv but that would make too much sense.

Predictions for preseason games are blah.

You did make a good point, the Mets demise will only help the Devils at the gate, if only by a little even.
A Mets playoff game on the same night as a Devils home game would result in a sparse crowd.

I would by into this if it were not a preseason game.

The fact the Mets are not playing has no relevance to the fact we play the Caps, lol, in a preseason game at the rock. Lets be serious. There will be maybe 5000 in the building.

I highly doubt the Mets season being over contributes to a spike in preseason attendance.

STH and STH only I think will be there.

Who wants to go to preseason games? I'm a big fan, and 2 games of preseason is MORE than enough for me. And of those I prefer the earlier ones to see the prospects more than the later ones to see the NHL team trying to get their legs in games that ultimately dont matter. At the end of the day, preseason in ANY sport = mostly blah.

But we all know that Devils' season attendance gets a free pass until football season ends. :sarcasm:

Why do people continue to compare a place where hockey is a way of life to a place where the NHL is behind NASCAR and Arena Football in terms of coverage?

8,536?! I guess a ton of people gave away their tickets to this game since it was the "free" game, but I can't believe the posted number was higher than it was for the Rangers. I guess no Mets to compete with helped  Or maybe a lot of people saw the $10 deal and took advantage of it.

And DevilBesideYou wins AGAIN, with the highest posted number though it was 1,000 or so short :p:

I've never met a single person that lives in NJ that cares about NASCAR and there is virtually no coverage of it in the market (the only coverage is national coverage).

There may have been more people there. Keep in mind that it was the youth hockey night and they definate sold some tickets for that and other tickets might have been donated... also possible the comps didn't get counted the other night, and that's why that game was lower than this one, since there were no comp slips.

Sarge18

I was there, and got my tickets through the youth hockey deal. They put me in the $115 seats, section 1 row 8. The lower level ends were 90% full, the club seats mainly empty and scattered people in the upper level, maybe 50 people in the mezzanine ends.

There werent "free" tickets to this game, and there were more people there for sure than the game against the Rangers, which shocked me. Especially since there werent those free vouchers. I expected there to be more ushers than people there tonight and was pretty surprised.

Unlike last weeks game vs the Rangers, the Youth Night's success would be in the fact that a vast majority of those kids have NO SCHOOL tomorrow. Sure, $10 seats help, but when parents dont have to worry about their kid sleeping through school, they're more likely to do it.
