Will Selanne start the season?

Hey guys, Just wondering what's Selanne's status. Is he gonna start the season? Miss a few games? Join the team in the middle of the season or just retire?

yes he is on try-out with ducks. he will be signed, but it all depends on schneider maybe marchant

With Schneider gone is he a lock to be on the opening night roster?
And how his return will affect Bobby Ryan?

It's like this - there's not enough money to sign Selanne...yet. There are moves still to be made because Burke and Selanne intend to deal with each other. The Ducks' movement options are limited, though. They can either (from most to least desirable) move players (not Ryan), bury players with one-way deals in the minors, or demote Ryan since he's on two-way deal.

So the upshot is:
Selanne on the opening night roster - 99.9%
Ryan on the opening night roster - ~50%

I'd say Selanne's nearly a lock to be on ice on October 9th. The only way he won't be is if he gets hurt. Burke will clear up the necessary cap space it will take to sign him.

As for Ryan, I'd give him a higher chance than Haha, but it's by no means a sure thing.
