"A big, strong, good all around defenceman, Regan is a shut down guy who pays attention to his own end of the rink and is one of the more dependable defencemen in the OHL. He’s become a real anchor on the club’s blueline."

And EXTREMELY underrated.

Your future core player.

so we talking solid 5/6? Is that his potential? Or you think he could turn into a 2nd pairing dman?

I'm talking 1st pairing. (In time)

Well the ducks liked him enough to sign him to an ELC after rookie camp and 3 days of training camp. Carlyle likes him but Carlyle was also in love with Dipenta for a while so..

That's a stretch but I will admit he has impressed me in camp. But it's been nothing special, just his positioning and energy. I can see him EVENTUALLY become a depth d-man but not much more.

What I know of him is that he has the talent to become a #3 defender on every team. The keyword is consistancy and mental flaws. He has to work on this, if he can correct this an gain consitancy we will have a nice asset.

Like 6th or 7th at best. He'll have a hard time making Iowa's roster this year so that should be an indication.

No offense, but I don't think you know anything about Eric Regan.

No offense, but I don't think you know anything about Eric Regan.

I watched him at training camp playing against other NHL d-men and I can tell you where he stacks up with them. Plus I'm very familiar with our D prospects which will include Mitera next year and Gardiner the year after. I'm not saying it's impossible but his road to the NHL through the Ducks will be loooooooooooong. He has a lot players to go through.

But aside from that he didn't show any kind of offensive ability or puck-moving ability that would make him a top-4 type d-man. But he could eventually be a 6th-7th guy after 3-4 years in the A. I'm just being realistic.

How has he looked so far in Iowa?

Right now, by my reckoning, Mark Mitera and Jake Gardiner are being looked at as Anaheim's two best defensive prospects. Regan will really have his work cut out to beat them out of the top spots.
