selanneIShockey 09-21-2008, 01:05 AM Hey everyone. I haven't been posting here that long but I've been a Ducks fan for a while. I have a few questions that maybe a few of you can sort out. First off, does anyone know FOR SURE if all of the Ducks' regular season games will be televised this season? I bought a Tivo to ensure that I won't miss any games but that won't help much if they're not all televised. Next question is, if they are all televised are they all on television, will they all be available locally? The shedule I found on the site lists some games as being televised on TSN (which I believe is only in Canada) and some sharks-ducks games as FSN Bay Area. The final question is, does anyone know if there will be any preseason games televised? I'm going to a few because this season can't start soon enough but I'd like to see them all if they're aired. Thanks to any light you can shed on the subject guys. And here's to another great season!

Well, here you go. Tivo will record the ducks games you tell it to. Since every game has a different title, you'll have to manually select each game.
If you get the center ice package (with direct tv, i'm not sure what the other tv plans call it) you'll be sure to get them all. The center ice package is really worth it, because you get to see guys like Crosby play.

yeah I wanted to get the center ice package but I don't have Direct TV. I'm stuck with TimeWarner cable here at my apartment and I don't think they have a package like that. :(
kenabnrmal 09-21-2008, 02:05 PM So I don't feel so guilty for hijacking the thread...
http://www.timewarnercable.com/Corporate/Products/DigitalCable/digital_sports.html
This site here lists NHL Center Ice as a product they offer. Not sure of your specific zip code though, so you might want to look into it. It really is remarkable.
Ok, now to hijack...
Anyone know what the story is on Center Ice and pre-season games. The guide doesn't have any games listed from what I can tell, though people have told me they had preseason games last year. I'm dying for some hockey...

You can get center ice on your computer, with the upside being that all games are recorded and available for playback on demand.
Ken, I remember there being games during the preseason last year, but it seems kind of hit and miss.

This might help you guys out. Set up a wishlist titled "NHL Anaheim" and it will record all the Ducks games and nothing you don't want it to. But if you are getting the Center Ice package it's better to manually record because the games on Center Ice will be blacked out if they are also on Prime Ticket.

Yeah, not many are televised at all, even locally. But some are, even tonight it appears, and I'd like to pick em up.
lwvs84 09-21-2008, 06:27 PM Is Center Ice Online available everywhere? I tried to sign up for it a little while back and it was giving me an error message (about not being in an area to get it). I live just outside of San Francisco, so I won't be able to get many Ducks games out here otherwise.

If you live in Corona, you should see most of the games through Fox Sports West, Prime Ticket (Fox Sports 2) and KDOC. Time Warner should carry all these broadcast.
There are occasional blackout games (Versus dates), NBC - but for the most part, you will see a lot of Ducks hockey. Have fun. :)

Yeah I was able to pick up most of them out in Riverside, but I was curious about this season because I didn't notice KDOC on the schedule for this season. I wasn't sure if KDOC dropped the Ducks? Anyone know? Anyway thanks for the help.
Also, my issue with the Center Ice package is that it blacks out local games (from what I've read) which defeats the purpose. Then I won't be able to view any Ducks games, just other teams. (I would like to watch other teams' games, but more than anything I want to watch my Ducks.)

That sounds like a great idea. Thanks so much for the tip, I'll post if this works out well or not. :-)

I believe KDOC was announced last minute last season. Basically they just take whatever games weren't being broadcast by other stations. So give it some time.

I hate KDOC... I can't even see the puck!

You should be able to get it eventually. It's currently giving the same message to me and others I know too, no matter where they live. I'm in Santa Cruz and it worked fine last year. I'd wait a little longer before worrying.

It will work if you are using Tivo... that's what I have. If it doesn't let me know I'll figure out what's wrong.

Cool, thanks. I just spent money to hook up my computer to my tv just for this. I was going to be disappointed if it didn't work. By the way, how much is Center Ice Online?

Last year it was the same price as the tv package, if i remember correctly.

The Samueli's own KDOC with Bert Ellis. :)

Your best bet for pre-season games is always the New York teams on MSG. Outside of that it's kind of rare, at least in years past.
Spankatola Jamnuts 09-23-2008, 11:43 AM Seems like the Kings typically put one game on tv most years, too.

Yea I saw the link on the website yesterday. 73 games are being broadcast and I can pick them all up. I'm a little disappointed that all 82 aren't shown though... :( oh well what can you do. I just really hope that the Anaheim-Dallas game on November 22nd is picked up. How can they not televise one of the games with Dallas? They're one of our biggest rivals.
Devils and Rangers on MSGHD. Started at 7 EST but a little hockey is better than no hockey.
