He was just a King for so long that we don't like him. Well I don't care. But it seemed like after he got traded from the Kings and he started getting booed by them we started to boo him too. We do share some fans(myself included). But it's not like Pronger. Everybody seems to want to boo Pronger.

There's no specific hate, but...well we saw him a lot last season. So did you. Why would you be excited about it? He's not exactly Norris caliber anymore, and he was probably the worst player to ever win that award to begin with.

I'm not super excited about his playing level, but I'm sure he will be able to at the least mentor our young defensemen and prospects (Vlasic, Ehrhoff, Petrecki, Joslin)

He has been a king for so long that he is not well liked, but really no one gets booed in Ponda...well maybe Turco and sometimes Kariya.

My comment was more about his really poor play these last two years. His play has really fallen apart from what I have seen.

Getting back on topic, you can see highlights from the game on the Ducks official site. I thought Mecaneuer made some real nice plays, specifically the assist on the second goal. Logan MacMillian might not be a bust afterall. He looked real good.

Matthew "Smokin" Caruana looked pretty good I thought. And Stu Bickle seems like a belligerent sort.

IMO Carlyle is the worst to ever win the Norris. Sorry Rando...much love still.

Carlyle had 83 pts in his Norris season. Not bad.

But I really don't care, I wasn't alive until April 81... Well, I guess technically I was a happy little fetus for most of the 80-81 season when he won the Norris, but you don't get good TV reception down... there... :shakehead

From the highlights of the 2-4 game:

The defense seemed pretty ragged, but considering that only 3/7 of them (if it's the same as the rookie camp roster) are actually our prospects I guess it's to be expected. And the fact that they haven't really practiced together.

Macenauer got smoked. Hit ~5 feet from the boards, but at least he wasn't facing the boards. He did look pretty good otherwise.

MacMillan has more speed than I expected, shown on a couple breakaway chances that he didn't capitalize on. Although his stride looked kind of awkward. The 1st goal SJ scored (the PP one) is on him, with the diagonal pass to the point going right through where he should have been. But he was positioned pretty well throughout the rest of that PK.

They were willing to fight, but the Ducks didn't look so good in them.

dcks are dominating but when I left it was 3-1 ducks but the fighting looks great.

It ended up 3-2 Ducks.
