2008 Ducks Rookie Camp

The Ducks open their six-day Rookie Camp on Friday, Sept. 12, with practices held at Honda Center. Practices have been moved to the arena from Anaheim Ice and are not open to the public.

I think it sucks the public has been shut out of the Rookie Camp - Burke should open the camp at least a couple of days so fans can take interest in our future. :nod: It's not like they will fill the Honda Center with spectators. :D

Ryan (and Miller, but he's unsigned so it's a moot point) have been at a camp or two, and have played NHL games. They'll be at the real camp.

Ebbett is a borderline guy who I thought might be invited, but he isn't. Beleskey is the surprise. Hmmm...

I remember a college guy joined last season. Was it Mitera or Salcido? The college restriction rule sucks.

Don't think it was Mitera. Seems like he's always had money troubles.

Yeah I thought it was Salcido, just because he lives here in the offseason.

The season in Europe has already started or is close to starting. Stefaniszin coming to the conditioning camp over the summer is a good sign for his future though.

But there is a Stefanishion, so we're covered.

Mitera was at last year's prospect conditioning camp, there wasn't a rookie camp because of the London games. Or at least there wasn't a rookie tournament but I don't remember an actual camp for the prospects. But if there was Mitera wasn't there.

re: Beleskey, they seem to have limited to guys who have been in the organization for less then 2-3 years, so that could be way, I know it was bandied around that he may need shoulder surgery, so it's possible that has happened as well.

It's interesting that Schultz and Warg are attending. Especially Warg, considering that Europe leagues are starting soon.

I think Warg is going to be playing in the CHL (WHL?), I remember reading that he was drafted and planned to play in Canada.

Good call, forgot all about that. Warg is playing for the Seattle Thunderbirds in the WHL this season.

Yeah Beleskey had surgery I'm pretty sure, I know that he wasn't ready to go thats why hes not i the camp, not because of the less than 2-3 years thing.
