D Mathieu Roy
:edmonton:
C Todd Marchant
Toddy's the bottom-six veteran center we need, and he could play a valuable mentor role to our younger guys. Roy is a physical 7/8 d-man who can play good in short stretches, and he makes only $500K.

Not likely to happen because well.. pretty obvious.
How about Marchant for 4th round draft pick instead though?

Interesting but I wouldn't take it. In my opinion, the ducks need someone who will provide offense more than they need another defenseman. I know we need to get under the cap still, but I'd rather lose Schneider to do that, than lose Marchant. This deal seems like a good one for Edmonton, but not for Anaheim.
Plus I don't think Burke likes Edmonton too much right now...

If Roy only makes that much I say sign me up. I think Todd waive his no-trade to go back to Edmonton. But I don't think Tambalini (please excuse me if I didn't spell that right) is going to do us any favors and actually give us a return for Todd. Hell I doubt we'll be dealing with Edmonton regardless of who there GM is now. But I'd do that deal for sure.

LOL. I thought the exact same thing.
I don't expect anything out of Roy, and yet I'd still take it. He's made of glass and a healthy scratch when he is healthy. On the other hand, maybe he can help the C*H*O*P*S.
Edmonton cleans up on this deal. They shore up a huge weakness of theirs (a C to take draws and who won't die with tough opposition). But I'd still take it, just to get rid of Marchant who's good but who we can't afford.
Honestly, just give us some failed prospect who can produce in the AHL, that's fine. Roy isn't worth anything to us, we don't need any Dmen.
PS, Burke will probably deal with Tambellini. He won't have to talk to Lowe since he's been kicked upstairs.

You really think so obobo? I have a hard time believing that he would. Even though he's not a GM, anything good for Edmonton would still be good for Lowe and I can't see Burke being thrilled at the idea of helping Lowe in any way.

Bugg is board---oilers hav enough C and the ducks enough D
Ducks maybe looking to move MArchant and Scheider--
But I don't see the oilers wanting the guy
and Roy with his head knocks maybe done at the nhl level

Well I think back to when Burke was as mad as he's ever been at Lowe, and he still said that if the Ducks had to deal with the Oilers then it would be an assistant GM that does so and not that the Ducks wouldn't deal with the Oilers. So I don't see it as Burke refuses to ever deal with the Oilers, he just feels personally betrayed by Lowe and won't talk to Lowe.

i see. i never knew he said that but that makes me happy that burke is a smart enough guy to not let his own personal s*** get in the way of business. i always liked burke...
