C•H•O•P•S name Gord Dineen as head coach

This happened a couple days ago but no one mentioned it. The Ducks finally got a coach for the AHL team.

In an act of semi-nepotism, the Ducks have chosen Gord Dineen as the new coach of the C•H•O•P•S. He's Kevin's older brother, and was an assistant with the Pirates last season. It doesn't look like he was an assistant for the 2 seasons prior.

Anyone know anything about him as a coach? Like our Portland posters?

Interesting fact. In the press release, Burke did not refer to the C•H•O•P•S by name. He used "Des Moines." It's probably not intentional, but it's funny.

Maybe they're hoping we won't notice. That way when Brian Burke leaves they can replace him with Brooke Burke and everything will still run smoothly.

Yup it was. You know you've become washed up when...

I don't know if it means much, but he was an assistant on some of the worst AHL teams I have ever seen in Springfield and then San Antonio (both Phoenix affiliates).
