who will wear the "C" and the "A"s?

holik was captain in atlanta
the wild had an alternating captain and rolston wore the C everyonce in a while

and then of course langs, elias and madden.

alot of people were complaining at the end of the year about langs and his leadership skills, many were calling for madden to be captain. this is how i have it.

C-langs
A-Elias
A-Madden

for now atleast.

i just cant see sutter taking the "C" away from langs after he took it away from elias

We actually have a bunch of players who can serve as captains and alternates...But yeah its gonna be Langs, Elias, Madden...Parise will get an A eventually and probably the C eventually but those three is what it will be next year.

Madden for C

Langs and White for A's.

I don't really know...I think Rolston, Madden, Elias and Martin should be considered...Martin not as Captain but as an alternate.

In my dynasty team though its C - Madden, A - Gionta, White

Elias will never lose a letter again, I guarantee it, and no, I did not specify the "A" he has pr the potential for him to get the "C" back. Either way, I can't see Lou allowing the captaincy to bounce around anymore.

Elias sticks with the A and I think Madden or Langs should get the C. However, the "loser" of that 50/50 should be thrown together with Holik and Rolston for the last A, however the "loser" has an upperhand.

Last season's structure is likely but I'd like to see this:
C - Madden
A - Elias
A - Rolston

Yeah, that's why I said it was likely for it to be between Langs and Madden, I guess its more of a 75/25 than a 50/50 =P

I just never really thought Langs was the right man for captain - although in the 2003 playoffs he sure as hell played like one.

I'm was Madden for Cap backer myself, but I'm not Sutter. Better looking than him:naughty: but not a better coach:cry:

thats why i kind of want to wait to order a jersey, but im way to antsy so ill just order the madden one with the A. oh well.

New guys (Rolston & Holik) even though they were captains, will not get a letter unless Sutter cooks up some rotation or road/home combo which I very much doubt. Rolston may very well earn a letter next year but I don't think coming in cold he gets anything except respect from his former teammates (Holik too; just a 1 year contract doesn't get you a letter regardless).

That said; what I think the locker room runs like:
C-Marty
A-Madden
A-Elias
A-White
A-Pandolfo

I think that is the core of the team right there. Yes it's too many, but that's the way it feels to me inside closed doors. Marty has his say (as evidenced in his award speech) and guys that have been here like Pando, Madden, Elias probably run the room more than most would think. Langenbrunner may wear the C on the ice but I think he's probably more subdued in the room than most would imagine (as is Elias).

Ok - enough speculation; where's the OT: drunks forum because I qualify tonight! :D

zubrus started the season with an A, so i wouldnt rule it out completley

Langenbrunner is the captain, and it's a really nice choice. Mad Dog is just too much of a hot head.

Exactly, and hot heads dont make good captains.

I love the fire of Mad Dog, but I think he even knows himself that come crunch time, he would not be able to lead this team. He is extremely valuable and I he is my 2nd favourite Devil, I just think he would prefer not to have the pressure.

I'm still loving Langs as captain to this day, I was ecstatic when I heard the announcement last year.

Madden is a grump for sure; but I wouldn't really call him a hot head other than his little tantrum during the playoffs which was WELL WELL deserved given the idiotic icing call that MAY have cost us the game.

He's never 'gone off' to the best of my recollection other than that animated reaction to the icing.

At least nothing that I would keep the C from him for... (except he already stripped it once and gave it to Langs)...

I have mixed feeling about the "C". Holik and Rolston must play a year to earn right but both could be "A". Elias shouldn't get the "C" back. Langs shouldn't have had it and I don't like Madden getting it just before he is a UFA.
There is enough leadership in the locker room with the addition of Holik and Rolston. Give it to Parise and let him grow into the role with the help of the others.

Although I'd like to see Madden wear the C.

With the additions of Rolston and Holik, we have leadership up the wazoo. Brodeur, Madden, Langs, Pando, Elias, White, Holik, Rolston, Gionta are leaders. Martin and Parise are emerging young leaders. Salvador has been around the block, Weekes is a stand up guy.

It's unbelievable.

We need a change. I think we might see a new "crop" of letter wearers!

I think Martin and Madden will rotate, or, what they could do is what they did a few seasons ago. They could rotate home and away alternate captains. Langenbrunner is captain which isn't changing, and at home, maybe Elias and Martin, and on the road, Madden and Pandolfo.
