Feed Me A Stray Cat 07-02-2008, 10:10 PM On second thought, Lou might be on to something: After a pair of forgettable seasons in the American Hockey League, Fedor Fedorov is currently underwhelming the Russian League with eight points in 15 games for Moscow Spartak. But that doesn't matter, because deep down inside, he's a sensitive singer-songwriter. You can check out his monster grooves at the Fedorov Brothers website. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to confirm. I wouldn't get too excited about him, though. He's Sergei's younger brother, but has had a few shots in the NHL and AHL with the Rangers and Vancouver. I doubt he'd even have a chance to be in NJ next season. If it's true, it seems rather bizarre. Devilsfanatic 07-03-2008, 12:00 AM Well I'd assume he's turned it around, or he wouldn't even get a sniff here. He had 25 points in 43 games in the RSL. Of course he is as big of a headcase as there is out there. His dad is nuts and Sergei raised him from when he was like 15-16 in Detroit. But if he ever even remotely shows up with the right mindset his skillevel is unbeliveble. Id never expect that. Like headcases usually just isn't that good either. But Fedor really got the skillevel to be a solid 70 pts player in the NHL. He is strong like a horse, skates well and can handle the puck. He got a call up with the Rangers, but the team went out to a part after a Florida trip and Fedor showed up with a broken nose the day after in practise -- its widely belived that he got into a fight with one of his teammates. It will NOT be good for the prospects in many many ways. ALine9900 07-04-2008, 12:15 PM I want his jersey  Ola 07-04-2008, 01:41 PM He is beast. He is super underachiever, last year he sometimes absolutely dominated in RSL... and still ended with only 25 or so points. Dude just one heck of athlete and headache in the same time. Yes he is 27 year old low round pick, career AHL and i still wouldn't be shocked if he not only make NHL but tor it up. I agree, I said it earlier too, if he ever figures "it" out he could easily do really well in the NHL. He is that talented. Like most headcases often got some serious flaws in their game too, that often is overlooked just because media are so fast to color them as headcases. Take Robbie Schremp as a example, according to many observers he would have been a 120pts player in the NHL if he just wasn't a headcase. Then you watch him play and see that he got zero footspeed and that his skating is flawed... But Fedor is strong like a horse, skates really well and can handle the puck. He just makes allot of bad options on the ice and it don't seem like he is out there to play effective hockey all the time. Sometime its like he stickhandle for the fun of it. But you never know with him in NJ, in some sense thats a completely unique organization. If they can get like 75% out of him he could easily become a 60 pts player who breaks the pattern for them and adds a element that they lack right now. A bit scary as a rags fan. ILikeItVeryMuch 07-04-2008, 01:55 PM Ola? I dont recognize you when you arent trolling about the Devils. lucscaps 07-04-2008, 02:25 PM what russian's do we have in our system? is Khumutov still in Lowell? Is this guy that is supposed to help Zharkov this year and hopefully Vaseyunov next year break the culture barrier? Does lil'Feds have any connection to the two of them? play with them ect in the motherland? cmccallum 07-06-2008, 09:38 PM Fedor is a flake. I wouldn't even want him in Trenton. Wow have you seen Trenton last year?...How could Fedor be any worse. The only bright spot Trenton had last year was Ryan Gunderson's season. fIREnIcE 07-06-2008, 09:40 PM Again. HatTrick89 07-06-2008, 09:58 PM I agree, I said it earlier too, if he ever figures "it" out he could easily do really well in the NHL. If he has, then he will get a long look at centering the first line. Certainly has the talent to do so. Elias - Fedorov - Rolston On paper, thats a great line. In reality it would probably fail. Das Uber 07-07-2008, 10:08 AM I'm hoping he has matured. If he has, then he will get a long look at centering the first line. Certainly has the talent to do so. Elias - Fedorov - Rolston On paper, thats a great line. In reality it would probably fail. It's a strange signing for Lou considering he doesn't put up with players who have attitude problems. So I think his thought process leading up to it could be one of the following: a) Fedor still has an ego/attitude problems, but the Devils need a skilled play making center badly. Instead of selling the farm to acquire one, he takes a gamble on Fedor, who has the talent, and hopes Sutter can whip him into shape. If it doesn't work out, he goes back to Russia, and the Devils continue their search for a center. No harm no foul. b) Fedor has matured since leaving N.A. and given his performance in the RSL last year, Lou considers him a "late bloomer" and decides to bring him over. c) Though the roster is packed at this point, the team could still use a offensive minded center. Adding Fedor creates some more competition among the prospects for that position in training camp, and gives the coaching staff a few more options to work with. If he makes the team, great, if not, good luck in the AHL or wherever he ends up. Jason MacIsaac 07-07-2008, 03:03 PM The way many Russian fans have been talking about him, I think he could very well be a huge surprise for New Jersey. I actually can't wait to see him at camp, the videos I was watching showed amazing size, speed and skill. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPWdz5KzuKY Devilsfanatic 07-07-2008, 03:32 PM This hasn't even been officialized yet. Wouldn't be surprised to see it fall through. mattihp 07-07-2008, 07:07 PM This hasn't even been officialized yet. Wouldn't be surprised to see it fall through. It's my first post be gentle, Extremely excited to be around other KICK-*** Devils fans http://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/2008/07/fedorov_rumors.html: :yo: burkesuks 07-10-2008, 10:31 AM I was a little amused by this signing. Mostly due to how much trouble he has had on other teams and when he is on the farm. The stories that were reported on th Canucks board are near legendary and if 1/10 if them are true....it will be fun watching coashes pull their hair out MoonDragn 07-10-2008, 10:36 AM Hopefully he's a little more mature now and theres nobody like Bieksa to punch his lights out. Maybe he's learned some humility playing over there in Russia. I think I may enjoy this signing.. Slaying_ice 07-10-2008, 01:06 PM I know most people from other boards are saying this guy is no good, but for some reason I am kinda excited to see what he can bring to the able. It looks like he has good hands from the videos. This Bieksa thing its only a rumor. I remember he told different story in one of his interview. This guy has bigger ego than his brother. Clarkson Falls Down 07-10-2008, 03:46 PM Looking at some of those videos on him, the guy has tremendous skill. I'm really excited to see how he brings it during camp. I know he might be a head case, but I think that the Devils could reel that in. We hopefully have a hidden gem here. I have no expectations for him so if he turns out to be something good, then great. if not, i wouldnt shed a tear. Avy* 07-10-2008, 03:54 PM hopefully this has changed or else hes goin right back to russia. His mantra is that evil coaches in NHL and Russia stop him from playing "his way". He probably want to play like Jumbo-Joe (and he got some skills) not PF. Bum or complete bust signing but if he bum it would be high way robbery. | ||
