lucscaps 06-30-2008, 11:43 AM I've been playing COD4 since it came out and I"m looking for something else to take up some of that time. I'm not going to leave COD all together just looking for something a bit different.
What are your thoughts on Bad Company.
I rented it this weekend, played it a bit, almost sold. Someone sell me.

Judging from playing the demo and the review off of IGN, the biggest difference is the destructable cover. In COD4 the gameplay is based around using bullet penetration to hit targets behind cover; in bad company you just destroy their cover. Also, like a typical battlefield game, vehicular combat is a big part of the multiplayer experience, unlike in COD4. Also, the multiplayer maps in bad company seem bigger, though I haven't played many of them.
Theron 06-30-2008, 02:29 PM dont compare the games...there both different .. id say get it.. but it wont replace CoD4
There both solid solid games.
COD is more about all out front assaults, close quarter combat, Bullet Penetration etc.. Where as Battlefield classes mean something*Minus the specialist..the **** tracer gun???* Battlefields maps are huge; and the games seem to take longer. It is its own brand of game; and definately worth a purchase. But dont forget to do the veteran.battlefield.com stuff. It can unlock 4 extra guns. and the Gold Edition is worth it for the extra weapons at the start. You'll enjoy BFBC.
RaiderDoug 06-30-2008, 07:41 PM Battlefield is a definately worth a purchase, IMHO. Maps are bigger, games are bigger (12 vs 12), vehicles add a new dynamic. Destructable cover will change the way you play FPS.
I'm really enjoying BFBC.
I recently put up CoD4 on ebay. CoD4 just got old to me, with the been there/done feeling every time I logged on.
Pogge4Life 06-30-2008, 08:10 PM COD4 is good for the longest time but with BFBC I just love it and havent put it down and havent picked up COD4 since
FloydianSlip 06-30-2008, 08:47 PM COD4 is still the best, imo ...but Bad Company is good.
Worth buying. Online is quite good.
Blowing a hole in the side of a house and then wasting everyone inside is pretty sweet.
lucscaps 07-13-2008, 09:33 AM thanks for all the input guys.
One thing I have noticed is that Bad Company isn't as customizable as COD games are.
Theron 07-13-2008, 12:08 PM i have both ... and in the last week ive played 90% CoD4.. 7% NHL 08 3% Battlefield

I'm not a CoD4 fan, but I have played it a bit. This post is dead on, 2 completely different games, but for most people both games are worth buying.
Professor Chaos 07-13-2008, 08:22 PM BF:MC is still better. EA tried to copy off of COD too much in BC. It's missing the reason people were getting BF to begin with...strategy, real team play. I hope when they bring back conquest, it'll be fixed. And they need to bring back prone, and not show opponents on radar at all.

THe really big problem with Bad Company (based o nthe demo) is the inability to communicate with everyone on your team. You can only hear you squad members, but I can't understand why they didn't copy Halo 3's d-pad radio. You'd press the d-pad in one direction and then everyone on your team would hear you.
FloydianSlip 07-14-2008, 07:33 AM it's lame that you can't go prone.

It'd be impossible to find enemy snipers then.

i dunno. i know it's not COD4 ...but in COD4 i find them easily enough.
just takes away from the realism.

Snipers don't zoom that much in this one. Even now it's pretty hard to find enemies if they're far enough.
