Anybody think Devils should have a 3rd jersey?

No! Lou has already stated that the Devils will not have a 3rd jersey while he runs the team, since "it's only a marketing ploy"

I take pride knowing that we are only one of two teams to never have a third.

I see nothing wrong with having a Retro Night in Mid-December.
Have it on a Saturday night vs a non-rival, have the team wear the Red & Green, honor the 1988 team during one of the intermissions. It would embrace our history and have a feel good mood in the stands.

Not too mention that it would, I think, bring more people to the Rock to see them in person.
I can't hurt for management to have some creativity once in awhile.

I would be down for having our retro jerseys as our third jerseys. I don't like the Devils in black idea, so that pretty much eliminates any other chance for a third jersey seeing as we already have red and white jerseys.

The Bruins third for next year looks awesome though, and I'm excited to see what every other team does.

I was really serious, they did make those jersey's because I do own one. Never wore it though.

I think it can work, but the thick red band on the arms and at the bottom need to be white, and the thinner ones changed to red, also the red at the shoulders needs to be white.

I heard a rumor that 2/3's of the league will unveil a third jersey sometime in November/December (just in time for Christmas).

Not sure the validity of it yet...but it's from a guy who gave me some very exact details about the rbk jerseys last summer.

Nearly, you need to put the white back around the NJ,( with the black circle, just like the regular jerseys)
Good job though, IMO the thicker white looks better than the thicker red ( with black being the main color )

People are going to buy jerseys not matter which ones they are. I bought a new (home) jersey when they made the swap a couple of seasons ago. I am not arguing the fact of a 3rd jersey being introduced, Im just saying it would be nice to have something offered to us like the old jerseys and the team participating in old school night...

I bought two at first for the fact that i knew we would never NEVER EVER have a third.

One I kept plaine and the other I had a company make red outline with white numbers of Marts I must say its pretty damn sharp....btw its not fake it was during a starter craze ill post some crazy ones to get teh laughs rolling(I actually bought some of these mind you not at full price no one was buying them so I get them for 10 each with tax IMo worth it i collect jersey's so to me its something that is rare yet funny)

I could be mis-interpreting that - but the way he posted that seems to indicate he's saying he came up with that design. If he's saying he's proud from a fan perspective of that design then that's fine, but as a quasi-digital artist myself, a big rock in my boots is when people pawn others work off as their own 'creation'.

Kind of what i did, but i have all these vector files for the devs from some site....I work with corrugated design, and have a 60" large format printer that is hooked up to contact paper at my disposal for Mock-ups, so i made my own version of a Fat Head, and made a tight Blackhawks one for a kid next door that was enormous....With the Vectors i didn't have to worry about Rasterizing.

I can't say for sure, but I think the 3rd jersey idea stemmed largely from teams wearing throwbacks. That's my best guess at least.

i already know mrs. mcmullen designed the original (never used) logo......all i was trying to say is i drew up the concept jersey ........ take it easy.

Wish i could still wear mine, but it was one of those old CCM replicas that got pulls in it if you Ever even wore the thing. You'd have to be in a bubble not to get pulls. Pluss it is pretty small now, it will sit in my closet until my daughter is big enough to wear it, or the wife wants to wear it. It is proabbly like the female sized jerseys now anyway. Which BTW, i just bought for her, (not the Pink garbage one) and they are pretty nice. Have a fleece style lining and all, since most women are freezing at games.

I was thinking of a way to have the NEW JERSEY over the number like dallas, with the devils logo on one side of the shoulder. (I want a damn shoulder patch) But i think NEW JERSEY is too long and might look stupid (VANCOUVER)

I was thinking of a way to have the NEW JERSEY over the number like dallas, with the devils logo on one side of the shoulder. (I want a damn shoulder patch) But i think NEW JERSEY is too long and might look stupid (VANCOUVER)

The "Jersey" idea is really cool. It kinda of gives off that state-pride sorta feeling when you see the jersey.

I'd really love to see a 3rd like that.

alright before you set me on fire with the flaming and saying it's horrible looking...this isn't the exact design I wanted to do, nor is it the exact color scheme (namely the charcoal) but I just wanted to get the actual logo/design point across. For reference I changed the colors on the Penguins jersey and yes I know I half assed it but it's not like it's going to be used, so why put all the effort in there? haha.

sorry I love the NJ style of it though. But I understand the sentiment as it is shared by many.

I actually really like that, minus the brightness on the red (not to nit pick). But I really like that.

I also really like the typeface you used on the lettering.

That looks good, the only thing I'd change is get rid of the front number and put a small number on front corner like the Sabres and Islanders have.

I would do white letters with a red outline instead. I wouldn't put the number in the corner. I think it looks cool below the "New Jersey".

Send it to Lou, that looks reallly good.

Lou Lamoriello has said that he doesn't like a third sweater becasue it takes away from the meaning of the regular sweater.

I liked the Primary blues one alot, just not the secondary.

As long as we don't get numbers put on the front of the jersey. I hate that look.
