Kitchener Rangers head coach?M-B-30 05-06-2008, 10:42 PM Is he still soposed to be our Assistant coach next season, havent heard anything as of late but was wondering if its true or whats the deal... dzanimal16 05-06-2008, 11:01 PM idk but i am praying that it is true and he takes over as the offensive coach b/c as everyone knows, johnny mac isnt cutting it. funniest posts that actually made me laugh were back during the rangers series (cant remember who posted them), but one late in game 2 i think was something like "uh oh johnny macs got the clipboard out" and then someone else posted something like "is it just me or when johnny mac was drawing up the play on the board during the timeout, half the guys werent even paying attention?" hahaha i was laughing so hard :yo:  Heat McManus 05-06-2008, 11:38 PM I haven't heard a single thing about DeBoer coming to jersey I was just talking to one of Kitchener's scouts and he feels that Pete BeBoer will not leave the Rangers for an assistant coaching job. But there are rumors of DeBoer going somewhere. Heat McManus 05-07-2008, 12:05 AM Arguing about Kovalev's shot with what could have been a joke account. He had some gems in that thread. Stuff like, "Yeah right, and Kovalev has 27 goals. In your dreams". He basically was saying Kovalev had, at best, an average shot. Gunnar Stahl 30 05-07-2008, 12:09 AM Arguing about Kovalev's shot with what could have been a joke account. I think JM will still stay in the org, wonder if we can pry someone with some west coast offense style, even the way the dallas style has transformed the second half of the season shows we need some new way to amximize what fire power we have. This will also be based on trades and UFA's(hopefully one on top sixer and and maybe two decent D men mobile yet not a liability, im not a fan of the rumors of Jason Smith coming back) we bring in im all for a guy like prospal or stillman and a gratton for the fourth line, sorry ash your a goner and to me this would be the time to let sarge go and keep rupp in there with a rookie of the likes of vrana/bergie/or clarkson and big body that has offensive upside top me gratton could fit that bill...any thoughts? Buzz Killington 05-07-2008, 10:14 AM There was an article in a Kitchener-area article recently that says Atlanta has already contacted DeBoer about filling their head-coaching vacancy, and Ottawa and Florida also are interested. http://news.therecord.com/Sports/article/345101 I don't remember where this was first posted...it was either here or on Kukla's. It also mentioned that Kitchener was interested in NJ Rockets forward John Parker. He ended up being drafted by Windsor in the 2nd round. Heat McManus 05-07-2008, 10:35 AM Kitchener would have taken Parker in the first if not for his UMass commitment. Their area scout was pretty high on Parker basically saying he was playing well below his talent level in the AJHL and would produce better with more capable line-mates and more challenging competition. Great player with excellent eyes on the ice that put him ahead of the play. vadvlfan 05-07-2008, 02:53 PM I haven't heard a single thing about DeBoer coming to jersey I was just talking to one of Kitchener's scouts and he feels that Pete BeBoer will not leave the Rangers for an assistant coaching job. What better scouting can you have than a guy that says to lou, this kid is a born winner, you should try to get him. If lou has enuf of these guys (minor league coaches/GM's) to "help" with scouting players under their system, they can do nothing but help. BTW, is J. Mac the only guy to be faulted for our lack of offense?? This is sutter's team/system, and J.Mac does whatever within those guidlines. He is as much a teacher as anything. He drinketh of the koolaid like everyone else in the org. He drinketh of the koolaid like everyone else in the org. That's what scouts do. Also, DeBoer should be the best judge of Kitchener's talent seeing as how he's their head coach. None of that has to do with the fact that DeBoer might not want to take an assistant position. Deboer has a a very comfortable situation in Kitchener right now. Things would have to be pretty perfect for him to leave. dzanimal16 05-07-2008, 04:47 PM Lou likes this guy, and counts on him & his opinion on current Kitchener players and whether they are worth persuing. Sutter takes over as GM in a year or two, Deboer becomes Headcoach. ;) vadvlfan 05-07-2008, 10:53 PM Its obvious isnt it?? Sutter takes over as GM in a year or two, Deboer becomes Headcoach. ;) Sometimes, things are as plain as the nose on your face. If indeed Sutter does become GM, (which I agree is inevitable) he might like J. Mac enough to offer the job to him. btw, I'm willing to bet that Sutter will be at the draft, and, he will announce the NJ draft picks, thus confirming his heir apparent toolshed. | ||
