Their regular seasons this year were very similiar. Staal is a better player than Zajac, but you really wouldn't have known it up until the last 6 weeks or so. That's saying something, because Zajac was a ghost this year.

Honestly Jordan has an impresive skillset and size but I think his potential is seriously overrated. I just don't think he thinks the game at a high level which is shown by his low assist total. Some people think he's gonna be a 90-100 point guy but I see a 60 point guy with Selke ability. Nothing more, but hey thats still pretty damn good.

How can a 19 year old look like garbage?

He went from the OHL directly to the NHL 1 month after he turned 18.

Because that's what he looked like. I'm not pulling punches on it. Both he and Zajac had stretches this year where they didn't look anything like NHL players. Staal has picked up his game late and in the playoffs, a ton. Zajac, not so much.

When the kids come in and get regular shifts at that age, they should be treated like NHL players, because that's what their team considers them to be.

I don't think you'd be too polite to Gomez if he went totally off the cliff in year 2. :sarcasm:

Their regular seasons this year were very similiar. Staal is a better player than Zajac, but you really wouldn't have known it up until the last 6 weeks or so. That's saying something, because Zajac was a ghost this year.

Fair. I'll trust you're opinion of it because I'll bet that you've seen more of him this year than me.
But I've seen enough of Zajac this season.

Kind of impossible to make a decision on a player who is still physically growing and learning the game, let alone he's 19 and was rushed into the league.

Look how long it took Lecavalier to develop.

No way. Come on. Staal always has shown brilliant and artistic offensive and defensive plays which are a hint of what will come.

I've never seen Zajac even remotely do anything that would resemble Staal.

There statlines are eeriely similiar. But enough of this. We'll argue for a week and I'll declare everyone in the league the next John Madden. The Rangers are about to lose.

This unity between the Devils and Penguins fans is making me sick, and should make loyal Devils fans sick as well. The Devils and Penguins are rivals, they're in the same division, and these fraudulent Devils fans are passionately embracing the Penguins. It's one thing to be rooting against the Rangers to lose, but the display you guys are putting on is pretty pathetic. And Penguins fans shouldn't be coming here acting chummy with Devils fans because you should dislike them as well. We're all division rivals here; start acting like it.

No, but I think the Rangers are going to have broom night to honor Jagr.

So much for the parade Raggies! Wait, Sean "Claude Lemieux II" Avery was a no show in the 2nd round again? But...but...

Not unless they keep the puck out of the net. And Forsberg can stop getting hurt.

Stastny hurt now. To go with Ryan Smyth. Looks like the Avs are going with all the eggs in one basket, 21-19-23, it's like 2001 all over again.

Datsyuk from the Rafalski "wiffle-shot" rebound. 3-1.

Are people criticizing the Aves, their fans and home city because of all the cheering Red Wings fans in the crowd? I thought that sort of thing is offensive to "real" NHL fans.

Cheers!

I think I might be rooting for the Pens to win the east. I was rooting for Montreal, but the Pens play against the Rags has endeared me to them so much that I might switch. And I love Crosby.

+1

I was pulling for the Habs too but the Pens play is making me too happy to move away from them

I might have to stick with the Pens all the way. Montreal may get bounced. I thought I wanted to see Dallas take it, but seeing Brett Hull lift the Cup would definitely make me cringe. Damn, I wish the Preds were still in it.

Now, it's 4-2. Will Theodore get pulled 3 games in a row? The "hero line" of 2001 just drew a penalty.... so, Avs back on the PP, where they scored last time.

Who's up for a trip to MSG on Thursday night? Let the ticket purge ala 2006 begin!!

I may just go and hang out at Penn Station and wait to watch the silent parade of zilches heading towards their trains with their hands in their pockets and heads down and ask every few people "Hey, how'd the game go?" I did this in 96 when I happened to be there after a concert at Roseland and they lost in OT to the Habs in the first round. It was a blast.

Can't wait for the center ice sweep salute of failure!

Poor Al Trautwig. I really feel for him. :sarcasm:

I am so happy for Scott Gomez. Hey, that is what you get for going over to the darkside.

I have to admit that sometimes I have no class. If I ran the Pens, I would put someone into the lineup to hurt Avery and Gomez. I am talking career-ending injuries. I would have done it in our last game at The Rock against the Rags. Where is that Leblond kid? ;) ;)

Hey, it ain't figure skating, unless you are a Tonya Harding fan. BTW, where are the Hanson brothers when you need them? LOL

Sorry to show my common side. It can be pretty ugly. Almost as ugly as Jagr's facial hair. :D

Seeya, Avs. That was possibly the ugliest end-game I've ever seen. I don't think they crossed center ice with the puck.
