"Scott Stevens says he's considered the possibility that he won't be back in the New Jersey Devils lineup this season."

If this true that changes everything, we will defintely have to trade for a veteran dman which might hurt our chances of getting a proven playmaker unless Lou is willing to start dealing prospects.
This might be far fetched but maybe see if Kenny D can come back for the stetch run if Scotty is done for the season? I don't know what kind of shape he's in but he's well rested.

Did you guys read what Stevens said??????
"I'm doing a lot better, but I haven't really thought about (sitting out the rest of the season)," Stevens tells the Star Ledger. "I'm just taking it slowly, doing what Dr. (Karen) Johnston wants me to do."
Stevens says he hopes to get clearance from Dr. Johnston to get on the stationary bike in the next few days.
Stevens has been sidelined with post-concussion syndrome since January 9 and while his return to the lineup is still up in the air, the all-star says retirement is not an option at this time.
"No. Not yet," he said."
Doesn't sound like trouble to me..............Not yet

Definately not. The guy is hoping to resume working out in the next few days. No reason to smash the panic button yet.

I don't think that's possible. When a player retires, he can't return to the league until 365 days have passed. At least that's what I remember.
Stevens out for the season = trade for Jason Smith. No questions asked.

Really? I wonder why, besides I don't think that would ever happen, Kenny coming out of retirement but stranger things have happened.

Dano said that he hadn't signed his retirement papers, but didn't really think he would make a comeback either, "No, I'm done."

The day Stevens takes the long walk is the day NJ fans say, "T.r.o.u.b.l.e". Luckly, today isn't that day. ;)

The Boston papers were reporting that Ray Bourque's got that itch again.
