Only one Devil on the list, Parise is at #5. Looks like Ari Ahonen has fallen out of the top 50, I seem to remember him being around #30 last year.

Nobody quite knows they critera, Ahonen may be too old or played to many AHL games to be considered.

Maxime Ouellet and Jani Rita are both still on the list. Them and Ahonen are all '99 draft picks and hadn't cemented NHL jobs probably by the time they compiled the list a few weeks ago. Ahonen might have been penalized for having played on a poor Albany team the last few years.

They state that "the top 50 ranking is a blend of ratings provided by a panel of 15 NHL executives." They don't say which executives comprise the 15, however.

It would be interesting to see older prospects list. Does anyone know of a place on the internet were some from five or ten year ago are located?

Suglobov should have been in there no questions asked, many other fans feel the same way. His age may have scared quite a few off, he stayed in russia to develop alot longer much like Datsyuk.

Having seen Rita play only a couple of times, I don't know how he's progressing with Edmonton. Maxime Ouellet is a top three goaltending prospect and deserves the recognition he's getting.

Like Jason said, THN is horribly biased towards Canadian franchises.

It's ok if NJ prospects aren't on the list. Everyone knows NJ pwns when it comes to scouting, drafting and bring up players. ;)
