Today's Star-Ledger published an article about Sergei Starikov going to see Miracle. The one-time New Jersey Devils defenseman played in the game known as the "Miracle on Ice" on the Soviet National Team.

The Real Goat in that game was the coach for pulling Tretiak. Picture Larry Robinson pulling Brodeur after the first period of Game 7 of the 2001 SCF. You win with your stud, and you lose with your stud. Period.

That's where I play hockey, Union Sports Arena on Rt. 22. I play at like 11:30 on Saturday night, so I've never met Starikov. I think they have another Russian former Devil, but it's not Fetisov. IMO those guys don't get enough credit for what they've done.
Unfortunatly the ice there is kind of crappy (maybe it's too warm :dunno: ) but for a while the open skates there were good because there was almost nobody there and you really had a lot of room.

Igor Mrotchek is the other one, but he's not a former Devil. For $42 you can learn how to play hockey (http://www.unionsportsarena.com/PrivateLessons.htm) from Sergei or Igor.
