Ahonen and Martin and Smith

we were discussing Smith's possible destination and New Jersey popped up so I said that it would be nice for Kevin Lowe to go after Ahonen and Martin, I then said maybe Rita and Smith would be enough. Needless to say that is a bad offer but Mizral saw to that :) in any case what would it take off the Oilers roster to realistically get these two players into Oilers silks.

Also when Smith left was anything said to him (negative way) during his departure then or was everything ok?

You would have to give us either your top prospect or something worthwhile, Lou won't trade Martin, Martin is an american young star, Lou loves american players.

I doubt it because I'm pretty sure Martin is untouchable. Ahonen is up for grabs but I saw a thread a few days ago that offered Smith for Ahonen straight up which would be much better deal for our team.

Lou would be crazy to trade Martin away before he locks up Niedermayer long term.

Yeah I don't think Martin will be going anywhere.

I would be sad to see Ahonen go but with Brodeur... Well he won't have a shot at becoming a starter here and he'd be too good to be a backup in a couple of years. I'd love to see him in Edmonton where he'd at least have some kind of chance of pushing for starter.
