With the the standings as tight as they are, 19 of the 29 games remaining are going to have playoff-like atmosphere. First up will be the new-look Flyers with additions Markov, Burke, and Radivojevic(if rumors are true). With the Devils leading the series 2-0-1, one win over the three remaining games against them will clinch the season series. Next is the Rangers plus Jagr, with Brooks rumoring Giguere or Kolzig heading to MSG. If true, expect the four games left to be less easy than in the recent past, with Messier and company desperate for that final playoff spot. Devils are up on NYR 1-0-1. Los Angeles(0-1 vs. NJ)and Calgary(0-0) are currently in a 4-way tie for the bottom 3 playoff spots in the West with St. Louis and Nashville, with Minnesota(0-0) five points behind in 10th. February ends in Toronto with the Leafs holding the edge in the series at 1-0-2. The Devils would have to be ahead in the standings by points or overall wins, as TML currently holds the goal differential tiebreaker 35 to NJD 23, for a NJ regulation win to mean gaining the edge in seeding. March begins in Montreal(0-1 vs NJ) with the first of three remaining games against the Habs. The 7th place Canadiens trail the Devils by 3 pts., with NJ having 3 games in hand. NJ and Ottawa are tied for 5th, with the Devils having one game in hand, and a 3-1 record against the Sens with no more regular season meetings left. Next is the first of two games remaining against Tampa Bay, who are already 2 for 2 against the Devils this season without newly acquired Sydor. Taking the last two games against the Lightning could mean the difference between 1st and 2nd place or 2nd and 3rd place. NJ is only 2 pts behind TB with one game in hand and 5 behind in goal differential. Then comes the rubber match with 8th place Isles. The teams records are identical at 2-1-0-1. The season ends with a home-and-home with Boston. NJ is 2 pts behind with 3 games in hand. Boston holds the edge with a win and a tie.

Teams looking to spoil(although trades and/or injuries could get some back in the hunt): Carolina(2), Washington, Buffalo, Atlanta(2), Florida(2), Chicago, Pittsburgh

I read the Devils and Sabres are the only two teams to not make a move during the regular season so far personnel wise.
