Anyone see this, I sure did. Some Dev kids (18?)and a huge Ranger fan went at it. Not sure who started it, but I didn't see the ranger fan again. Other than that take, i thought it was a good game, Great 1 st period. Talkin **** is one thing, startin fights around really young kids.... Not cool.

Not even...how about growing up.

Fighting over the age of 17 is just embarrassing(unless of course its on the ice ;) )...time to grow the hell up already. I just laugh at idiots who get into fights at any sporting event. Just enjoy the game, if you can't go to a game without getting into a fight with someone then you shouldn't be at the game altogether.

From what I saw from the opposite side of the ice, the kids started it. They were slapping hands and trying to get cheers on the way out like they were pro wrestlers.

I don't think you get how bad that age group can be at these games. It's really terrible. They've pretty much single-handedly made it a miserable experience. Thankfully, the crowd was more normal people and people with kids than the other Rangers/Devils games have been this year, at the Rock.

I'm guessing they really, really, really provoked the guy because he was with a little kid and still got himself into that. Not saying he's not a total moron, but it takes two and I could see myself doing the same thing.

I agree, but I thought my section was handled rather well. Good job by the staff and the fans who stepped up.

If you look at that picture, the kid in that gay red hat started the while thing IMO, but many fans stepped up to him to sit his young ass down. Still, that guy should know better to let his temper get in the way, IMO....

Rockin' red, duh (of course the dumbass went overboard).

1. The guy should be ashamed of himself if he has any concious. Not only was he willing to fight a few 17 year olds over fan loyalties at a sporting event, he has now embarassed himself and his family as his likehood is all over the web. If he did take a swing at a Prudential Center security guard in the concourse as some have said, he may be facing charges too.

2. I wouild never wear that hat anywhere but I give the kid props for being creative.

It doesn't give them a free pass. and alot of people at the Rags/Devils games have acted like they had a free pass to act out and have no consquences. Obviously, this meathead didn't agree. I would never fight the security, though, this guy did it early and often. But, if they want to push it to that point, they deserve a busted up face.

What I'm amazed is how all the people in question scored $200 seats, that's normally the one area of sanity during these games.

The last Devils Rangers game I had a bunch of kids who were around 17 or 18 sitting next to us that were Ranger fans, I was amazed at how well behaved they were.

Now today, 2 rows behind me were 2 dudes my age who took to throwing things at people.

They ran out of empty Miller Lite bottles and resorted to napkins. I couldn't help but laugh. Ooooh, crumpled up paper, tough guys, look out!!

well when you consider the depth of "talent" that has gone through the organization and the guy spends his 150-200 bucks on a Colton Orr jersey, are you really all that surprised? You can't have very high expectations for a guy with the mentality of a cave man.

whether or not you agree, kids are kids, even once the reach the "young adult" stage. They run their mouths, they take **** too seriously, have that false sense of invincibility and that's just that. Regardless of their actions I'm pretty sure that avoiding a situation like that as a grown man isn't all too difficult. Plus if the rumors that he was even semi-aggressive with security are true, then I think it's pretty obvious that the guy was a dbag anyway. Not to justify the actions of the goofy kid in the hat or whoever, but still it still becomes a 50/50 thing.

he was 7 rows in front of me. no rumors about it they pulled him out, the kids kept heckling him the he got all mosh pit like on the security to get at them.... wasn't even concerned for his kids well being.

club seat ticket: $200

colton orr jersey: $200

popcorn for your 7 year old: free

knowing that you are banned for life trying to fight 17 year olds..... priceless.......

yu have to wonder. what possible good outcome for this ranger fan.

1. he beats up 3 17 yr olds in front of his kid..... looks like a loser.

2. he gets beat up by 3 17 year olds in front of his kid. looks like a loser.

3. get tossed by security in front of his kid. looks like a loser.

he obviously did not factor in his ROI on his choices tonight....

ah yeah you clearly saw better than I. I was directly across from it (upstairs of course) and I saw a lot of commotion but it was hard to determine exactly what was happening, well besides an obvious altercation.

i agree wholeheartedly though...it's a lose/lose situation not to mention a ridiculous one that is easily avoidable.

lets be real, what could they have possibly said to create that situation? Rangers suck? I'm sure he had something nasty to say back, or was being an obnoxious ***** and it snowballed from there. Most Rag fans aren't that way, but plenty like to say stupid obnoxious **** (which might explain the plethora of Avery jerseys both legit and makeshift) that is really uncalled for but then seem to be perplexed when someone has a response. (the door does swing both ways though)

Although I was able to contain myself, at our last CAA game with the Rags last season during the whole Avery incident some dbag Ranger fan behind us seriously said he hoped Marty cracked his head open on the cross bar, he sucks, and he's a bum, etc.

Now this chode was with 2 kids, and here he is saying things like this (and other things I won't mention due to the vulgarity) and yet he has no expectation that the Devil fans around him are going to have a negative response or say something back because he's a big bad man.

By that looks of the Rag fan, I got a feeling he probably was no better than those 17 year old that may have instigated him.

Reverend_Hellh0und

yeah no doubt. 2 devs/rags games ago i was walking up to the goal bar fter the game. i had a little wobble to my step due to a groin injury acting up from when i played the night before. i wobbled into this ranger fan and before i could say "excuse me" he started in with the whole "you wanna go? you wanna go?" he was only wavng one arm thoug as his other hand was holdinghis 5 year old son with a look of mortal fear in his eyes. i responded "no not really, but thanks for the offer, why don't you get your son home and relax. it was god game" then turned and wnt on my way.

Soccer is okay and everything, but I just cant get all worked up over a sport in which I can go to the fridge to get a beer, take a leak, do my taxes, return to the couch and not so much as miss a shot on goal. I'm one of those people that just watches the world cup and that's pretty much it.

Outsider point of view here. While the guy may be an idiot for fighting with his kid with him, that could be why he was fighting. If the young Devils fans are swearing and yelling at him and his kid, you can't really blame the guy. I mean if I'm sitting with my kids and people are cursing and yelling at me, I'm going to ask them to stop acting like that in front of my kid, but if they keep going at it, tough to say what's right there.

Also I am shocked to see none of you commenting on why Carlos Mencia is wearing a Colton Orr jersey and fighting.

If so, here's mine.

Newpaper Article w/Caption:

The Fonz, shown here many years later sporting a beer belly, dark tan & a ugly hockey jersey, tries impressing today's youth with his infamous, "Heyyyyyy!" The teenagers couldn't relate to the cut of his jib & were somewhat startled by ogre, donning a colorful, toilet paper shirt. Authorities were called in & told the Fonz to leave, stating to the Fonz that, "The only known Rangers they heard of that was any good…played in Texas.”

The Fonz was escorted out of the “Rock” & was later arrested on Frelinghuysen Ave, attempting to jump a tank of sharks.
