These are some great pictures. The first one is hilarious because the ringleader was wearing a Rafalski jersey. "Gomez, you ********* ****, you're worse than the guy that left us that I like!"
And the fat Ranger fan who needed like 1,000 security guards to control him, I'm pretty sure there were a bunch of punkass 18-21 year old Devils fans that provoked his path of rage. Best part was it was in the ice lounge and someone's losing their corporate tickets, which means someone's losing their job.
The guy that he got into a fight with got ejected... with his mom. Fat Ranger fan got ejected... with his little kid. Really pathetic.

valid point, but still questionable
TZajac19 04-06-2008, 08:13 PM valid point, but still questionable
Not really Gomez at some point in his career said he did not want to ever be a Ranger. He also said before he was a UFA that we wanted to move out west to be closer to his family. None of which he did. Plus he did sign with our biggest rival so that did not help his case. lol
As for Brian he got a good offer for a western team. His agent said that he got a better offer from a NJ rival but went to Det. instead. Plus its also rumored that Lou low balled him and he wanted to come back. So I believe most fans have no problem with Rafalski leaving.
Richer's Ghost 04-06-2008, 08:14 PM valid point, but still questionable

not even close, rafi was loved here and always will be, he left for his hometown and even took a discount, he wanted to stay with the devils but lou low-balled him and he left. No hard feelings against rafi, and i wish him the best, Gomez on the other hand, left for the $ to a rival, END OF STORY

Raffi definitely did not take a discount. $6,000,000.00 a year is a whole lot of zeroes.

Not the same exact thing at all. Rafalski went to the Western Conference to a team that we barely ever see, and in doing so, went "home" to Michigan. Gomez went across the river to our biggest rival that we play 8 times per season.
The difference NOW is that if Rafalski wanted to come back when Detroit tanks in the playoffs, I wouldn't have any problem with it. If Gomez came knocking on Lou's door, I'd pack my stuff, drive from Buffalo to Newark, stop for some White Castle, go to the Prudential Center, shoot a spitball made from a straw wrapper right between his eyes, and pee in his shoe.

or you could just simply say, we let Gomez go, and lowballed Rafalski out of town. Rafi went closer to home, like his counterpart said he wanted to but lied through his crooked ass teeth about.

What are you talking about? Rafalski wanted to stay and was expecting to be a Devil. In fact, it was basically assumed by all of us here that he was going to resign. Apparently Lou really lowballed him and Detroit came with a much better offer. In an interview shortly after signing he even sounded surprised himself.
Taking a complete 180 degree turn, Gomez was never expected to resign with us, and also happened to sign with our most hated rivals.
Total, total difference.
sattar18 04-06-2008, 11:08 PM Raffi definitely did not take a discount. $6,000,000.00 a year is a whole lot of zeroes.
he said a team offered 7 mill, he didnt actually say the team but it was the rangers. ( i think his agent confirmed this)
ILikeItVeryMuch 04-06-2008, 11:21 PM Rafalski said he wanted to be near his family, so did Gomez, end the equation yourself.
DevsOwnYou 04-06-2008, 11:21 PM Rafalski told his agent to work out a new deal with Lou. He wanted to retire a Devil.
It did not work out so he went out West and not the team that offered him even more $$$, the Rags.
Gomez is a traitor who bailed out on the team that traded up to draft him and where he won 2 Cups.
Plus he went to the hated Rangers to boot.
Those fans flipping Gomez the bird used their freedom of speech right. None one got hurt because of it.

Nah nah. I didnt want to be too rude...one time i did throw on my rangers jersey when i pulled up to his house though and his son came to the door(very young 3-4 years old)...he looked through the glass and he was SHOCKED and yelled "THE RANGERS?!" and rafalski's sister( i assume) anwsered the door, we had a good laugh about it. When brian would anwser the door himself (very rarely, most of the time it was his wife) it would be very brief and although i wanted to say something i thought it was more important to respect his privacy. Good tipper though!
