:handclap: His contract extension is already looking like an incredible deal especially compared to the other extensions that went down this year.

I know I was really hoping that he'd hit 80 points. Great job by Burke! Static 04-06-2008, 02:32 PM His goal output went down however which is concerning. 4 ppl goals is about 5 too few. He needs to shoot the puck more. karacter 04-06-2008, 03:14 PM His goal output went down however which is concerning. 4 ppl goals is about 5 too few. He needs to shoot the puck more. he should easily be a 30-50 guy for years to come, and that is his floor not his ceiling IMO. voxel 04-06-2008, 03:14 PM He should win the Hart eventually... too bad the east have no clue about him and think Jeff Carter is better. iHATEbeauch23 04-06-2008, 03:14 PM His goal output went down however which is concerning. 4 ppl goals is about 5 too few. He needs to shoot the puck more. I know, I wonder if he realizes that he probably has the best shot on the team. Oilerdiehard 04-06-2008, 03:49 PM Getzlaf is the man. A fantastic season and he is still a kid. His best years are still ahead. Ducks_è_Halos 04-06-2008, 06:30 PM I know I was really hoping that he'd hit 80 points. Great job by Burke! Agreed. And Carlyle has done a wonderful job w/ both Getz and Perry in terms of pacing their development. It has done wonders for their confidence. Very happy with these results so far. 1manband 04-06-2008, 06:34 PM is great having him at the price we do. We all heard of Lidstrom taking a pay cut to make the team better, mind you, he's still on $7+ per year. thats going to be what happens now, players taking a cut to help the team, or so i think, that way GM's can say, well "he" signed for "x" etc and not over pay players *cough* Penner *cough* Getz is a definate lock up player, Perry too, without Getz he wouldn't score near as many points, they are a great duo, they will only do great things for the ducks, like Teemu and Kariya, imagine if we had them like we do with Getz and Perry!!!!! Randall Graves* 04-07-2008, 06:40 AM His goal output went down however which is concerning. 4 ppl goals is about 5 too few. He needs to shoot the puck more. Which in a way is a good sign...still shows plenty of room for improvement. I'm looking for a 30-60 year next year from him and a 40-40 year from Perry. Sojourn 04-07-2008, 12:51 PM he should easily be a 30-50 guy for years to come, and that is his floor not his ceiling IMO. Getzlaf won't be a 50 goal scorer. It's not his game. Even 40 goals is a big stretch, I think. Perry might be, if we're lucky, though I think he's going to be a 40 goal scorer. Sojourn 04-07-2008, 12:53 PM is great having him at the price we do. Technically, we got Niedermayer cheaper too. He was offered something like $1 million more in New Jersey. snarktacular 04-07-2008, 01:00 PM Getzlaf won't be a 50 goal scorer. It's not his game. Even 40 goals is a big stretch, I think. Perry might be, if we're lucky, though I think he's going to be a 40 goal scorer. I think he means 30 goals 50 assists. Buck Naked 04-07-2008, 06:18 PM It's 82 pts and a +32 in 77 games btw. IMO, Getzlaf will be a 35 goal 70 assist player, in an 82 game season. Remember he has been sick and slightly injured for stretches this year, where we could all tell he wasn't 100%. If he was 100% all season long he would have hit 95-100 pts this year. I agree with others though about his shot, I find myself yelling at him atleast 3 times a game, especially on the PP to shoot the mother ****ing puck! But, as others have said, that just means he has parts of his game that can be improved. Ducks 04-07-2008, 06:38 PM It's 82 pts and a +32 in 77 games btw. This thread was started before the Coyotes game. Sojourn 04-07-2008, 07:48 PM I think he means 30 goals 50 assists. That he can definitely do, so long as he starts shooting more. The passing ability is no problem. I actually think he's an underrated passer by many people. He's got great vision. He just needs to use that shot more. KingEli* 04-07-2008, 10:26 PM He should win the Hart eventually... too bad the east have no clue about him and think Jeff Carter is better. Lol, i dont ever recall anyone, within the past two years anyway, saying that Carter is better than Getzlaf. Buck Naked 04-07-2008, 10:48 PM This thread was started before the Coyotes game. I noticed, just updating. Anyways, I love the fact that Getzlaf is STILL being put behind the likes of Staal and Kopitar in terms offensive ability, even though he has outscored both of them in less games played, on a team with a substantially weaker offense. Roger's Pancreas* 04-07-2008, 11:21 PM He should win the Hart eventually... too bad the east have no clue about him and think Jeff Carter is better.Dude, you're crazy. The entire Flyers board would have preferred Richards at 11, and Getzlaf at 24. We also wish Clarke would have picked up about four more first round picks...but what can you do, you know? Well if he can turn in another post season like last years i'm sure more people will come around on him. Laus723 04-08-2008, 11:48 AM He should win the Hart eventually... too bad the east have no clue about him and think Jeff Carter is better. The East's fans, or the teams? Gezlaf quickly became one my favorites during last year's playoffs. I wish Horton would play a lot more like he does. Benny Lava 04-08-2008, 08:57 PM These are definitely Vezina numbers... Ducksforcup 04-09-2008, 02:57 AM Getzlaf and a 1st for Mikko? Burkey will probably add a 2nd round pick because he hates them. :sarcasm: Lyons71 04-09-2008, 12:54 PM I'd rather have Mikko Koivu. Not sure Carter is a winger by choice. The Flyers don't want him playing on the third line. Getzlaf screams future leader and his playmaking skills are stellar (surprising for a big guy). No wonder Burke refused to trade him as part of the Pronger deal.
