Will We Sell Out Every Playoff Game?

Will we? Love this team, should be a good first round opponent whoever we get and a new arena? will this add up to 17,625? I hope so.

Hopefully, but Devils fans have proven to be frugal over the years for the first two rounds.
Obviously vs Philly or NYR every game sells out.
Vs Ottawa, Washington, Boston or Carolina, maybe not.
Everyone needs to do their part and try to go to at least one first round game.

no we wont. we dont sell out weekday games, and the playoffs wll be no different. 11 years of playoffs jades fans.

And yes it does matter.

Nope.

The weekend games will be sellouts, but unless we play the Rangers I think you'll only see 16,500 or so on the weekdays.

People usually are frugal for the first two rounds but I don't think a lot of Devils fans expect the team to last beyond one or two this year, I don't know whether that impacts ticket sales positively or negatively since I'm sure everyone wants to see at least one playoff game at the Rock.

So no.

The changes to the yellow seemed to work. They yellows on TM for Game 1 now are first rows in other section and $65 sales seem to be going well.

Problem will be the $95's and the $130's. I don't think the $115's should have gone up.

I gotta sit in the $95's in the first round, too, Isles, please help me, I don't want to go to jail. Give me some friendly Bruins or Sens fans. I don't want to be in an insane asylum of various Ranger/Devil trash.

I think everyone nailed it... weekend game against anyone, yes. Weekday game, probably only the obvious teams we'll sellout. Partly because of their fans, and partly cause our fans would rather seem them play local rivals as opposed to Ottawa.

They raised the prices, but I'm not sure its that horrible. The $200s only went up $50. If you're willing to spend $200, you're willing to spend $50 more.

The cheapest seat you can get for a playoff game = $20. not horrible. I got a pair of $65 for game one (or 3). Still, they could have worked things better for the playoffs to guarantee sellouts. Maybe keep the expensive seats the same price they are, and raise the cheap seats cause those will always sell

Ha i'm pretty sure if we meet the Rangers in the first round, regardless of the outcome of the games I won't be on HFboards for awhile. I just couldn't take it! And yea, the last Rags game I went to left me sooo angry. I'm sure if we won, I'd feel sooo great. But yea, there will be fights, especially since everyone can take the train and drink. Hope the Rock beefs up security.

I know I'm going to kill one of them. One of them like that kid on the Rangers board, scrawny 110 pound 18 year old ******** that use their mommies charge card to buy hockey tickets.

I have nothing against Rangers fans, I've met plenty of great ones and actually, up unto this year, I had no bitterness and ill-will against them at all. I will sit here and admit I was *rooting for them* against the Sabres. I'm not one of those fans with a severe Rangers inferiority complex.

But the Rock changed all that, I can't stand most of them that show up. Even the old-time Rangers fans that I know can't stand them. Bunch of spoiled rich kids that take the train, somehow manage to get drunk and cause alot of problems, and the Devils half of it is just as bad.

It's not set it stone yet, Ottawa is currently up 8 to 2 on the Leafs, and now are within 1 point of the Rags with 1 game left. Boston is 3 points back on them with 2 games to play.

So pretty much comes down to Ottawa and Boston needing to win out and the Rangers needing to lose out - so basically tomorrow we'll have a very clear picture, I think if the Rags win it's us vs them no matter what.

While true I think if you look at all the mathematical possibilities it's certainly likely to be Devils/Rags. Mayhem ensues.

Yep. If they win and we win, the matchup is set Devils 4/Rangers 5, if they win and we lose, the matchup will be set on Sunday, either straight up, or the Rangers having to beat us in regulation (if tomorrow's game is a 3 point loss).

If they lose, the door is blown wide open and if Boston wins, basically, we will decide whether we play them or not. If not, we will either play Boston or Ottawa, whoever wins their showdown game on Saturday. So, either way, by Sunday, we will know either/or who our opponent is.

EDIT: Actually, the showdown game is tomorrow and the Sabres/Bruins game is on Saturday. But, it's still apt. If the Sens win tomorrow and the Rangers lose, we decide on Sunday whether it's Rangers or Sens. If the Bruins win, then they have to beat the Sabres, same thing applies.

Yeah it's gonna be very ugly in the first round against them. I'm praying the clown who has the 4 seats next to me shows up,but since he sold each of his 32 dollar seats for 75 a piece to four little piss ant Rags fan at the last game, I'm banking he's gonna do the same throughout the playoffs.

He's been selling his seats to out of market fans all year.

A handful of games there's been Devils fans there, but I had to sit next to Phoenix fans, Sharks fans, Isles fans, 2 different sets of Rangers fans, Sens fans, you name it, I've sat next to em.

It's not that bad because most of them have been pretty cool all year - even the 1st set of Rags fans we had a lot of fun with, but man it gets annoying every game walking up to my sets and see other teams jerseys.

I've been checking on StubHub and eBay for the seats too but I never can find them!

I hope this thread remains to be discussed in a civil manner, because I'm pretty darned sure some other team's fan is going to come here in this thread and make a sarcastic jab a the fanbase.

If I lived in Jersey, you bet I'd go to every playoff game, hell, I'd have season tickets.

Like others have said, it depends on the matchup, if we get the right matchup, then selling out every playoff game is certainly attainable.

I've gotten used to the jabs from them. Funny thing is none of them seem to realize that in today's economy, with today's state of affairs in the world of Hockey, if a certain team didn't play smack dab in the middle of the financial capital of the world, they wouldn't "sell out" every game. The fact that we're averaging a little over 1,000 short of a sell out every night is amazing.

Even better since ours isn't filled out with 'suits' and about 1,500 guys named Dolan.

Shhhh every seat is filled at MSG for every game, thats why the lighting on tv shows the lower bowl ever so clearly shhh. :sarcasm:
Manhattan = instant sellout, hell the Knicks resemble a bowl of diahrea and they still draw over 19,000 fans a game (albiet thats a Dolan number, but still.).

Heh yeah, that's usually my first rebuttal, "Okay the Knicks sell out too, you really want to be in the same boat as them??"

Oh and just got 4 more closer in Home Games 1 and 2 in the First, convinced one of my buddies to buy tix.

Although you know, if I saw people trying to start word of mouth campaigns to fill the arena, I'd laugh too.

LOL, the Miami Heat always average near a sellout this season. Gotta be alot of angry STH there. I sorta believe the Knicks number, I think the Rangers number is a little fudged. Game 4 in '06 convinced me of this. I should not have even had the option to buy tickets (that implies more than singles) day of game. I didn't go, but I could have. If this was the first playoff appearence by the great Rangers in 4,000 of years, people should have been killing each other for Round 1, Game 2.

So, what gives? Then there's the whole thing of the loud cheers when Gio and Elias scored in the 3rd. That's when the myth the little kiddies like to bring up died.

I'm interested to see what happens when the Rangers put *their* tickets up, with their new buttrape playoff ticketing program.
