Let us play every team at least once next year.

We won't hear until gametime for sure, Carlyle like to be secretive.

A special ceremony before the game tonight for the fallen SWAT officers. I would have donated my ticket to fellow officers coming to the game if I had heard about this before.

they have. hurrah

as of next year we play 'only' 6 teams against division teams. of the 8 games this generates we play 5 against the other division in the east that we wouldn't have been scheduled to paly meaning we play everyone once and then the other 3 matches against 'random' opponents

as for tonight, would prefer getz and giggy out if it means they are 100% come playoff time. especially with perry and carter likely out round 1 from the last i heard

Its such a shame Sutherby has absolutely no confidence in the offensive zone. Does a great job in his own end, skates powerfully with the puck through the neutral zone, and instead of keeping his feet moving with the puck as he enters the attacking zone, he stops them, spreads them apart, and basically glides himself into the corner looking for a non-existent passing lane. I know he's not a great offensive player, but he has the skating ability and tools to at least be a guy who drives hard to the net and pick up a decent amount of garbage goals.

Yeah but a one handed slash to the hand is a lot worse than a two handed slash that breaks a stick but can't cause an injury. Yet those ones get called.

Yeah but a one handed slash to the hand is a lot worse than a two handed slash that breaks a stick but can't cause an injury. Yet those ones get called.

More as an illegal defensive play than anything. A slash that breaks a stick takes the player out of the play. I don't think anyone would suggest that they get the penalty for endangering a player's health.

The fact that the one-handed "slash" caught ryan on the hand was as much Ryan's fault for the gloves he wears (extremely low cuff). You can't start calling those, you just freaking can't.

Holy smokes, Hiller has some great leg power. Side to side he's amazing!

This was the best game I have seen Bertuzzi play as a duck. I know he didn't score, but he actually took the puck to the net when he had the opportunity to, and didn't leave me screaming at him every play. :handclap:

Bertuzzi pisses me off when he plays like this, it makes you wonder why he can't bring this same effort more often.

The shutdown line has really been putting the clamps on lately. I didn't even notice Kopitar or Brown much. Rob Niedermayer dominates the boards he's going to create a decent amount of offense in the playoffs.

Hiller played amazing, stops a break away, stops a 2 on 0 etc good to know he can step in if needed in the playoffs.

This was one of the first times I saw Bobby Ryan look really comfortable on the walls, he controlled the puck very well. He could actually turn into a good hitter if/when his legs and upper body get stronger. He showed really good understanding and instincts on the goal and his wrist shot looks like it is quite a weapon..

When Ryan had the puck on the 3 on 2, I was waiting to see how he would **** it up. Then he goes and scores on it.

Dare I say...I like Bertuzzi.

That was Ryan's best game I have seen. Unfortunately it was also Dougie Weights worst and was a poor game for Kunitz. There were many times Ryan had the puck and just kept skating around looking for someone to pass to or make a play with or someone in front of the net. He looked stronger on the puck and did not get knocked off it as easy. He is still tenative in the corners and seems to lack a mean streak as he does not check as much as he should.

Before the game, I commented to my brother that Bertuzzi is more of an agitator this season then a power forward. He seems to get under the other teams skin easily but lacks the dominant posture he used to have when charging the net. My brother kept reminding me of that for the rest of the night as Bertuzzi played awesome (and yes, I do plan on insulting Bertuzzi's play before every game for superstition's sake).

Hiller is playing great! With only playing 21 games, can he qualify for rookie of the year? 0.928 save%, 2.02 GAA are not bad stats.
