The REAL playoff avatar poll

Basically we're looking at three options:

1. Merit Badges as seen in these posts:

Tough choice because all 3 are pretty similar. Also because the mock-ups don't mean a whole lot, it's just one person's vision of how they might look. The final version of each might look very different depending on what the other photoshop people might do. So really it should be a "concept" vote than a "visual" vote.

I still like merit badges best because I'd prefer not to have headshots. There's more room for variety if 2 guys want, say, Pahlsson. And because merit badges are sarcastic, and I'm a sarcastic guy. So that's my vote.

But since no one else seems to like merit badges... I'll give a 2nd "phantom" vote for wanted posters. Just because I like the concept of the "Wild, Wild West" and that the Ducks players have not yet been captured for these crimes. Also because wanted posters could theoretically also use "action shots" instead of just the team headshots (like say he was captured on photo, but he's still at large). That way if 2 people want the same guy, one could be from an action shot.

Summary: merit badge > wanted poster > mug shot > all other teams' avatars

I like your points, especially the action shots, I'm sure someone on this board is good with Photoshop and could whip something up like DucksRule has done so far.

I'm curious where you see more photshopping potential in mugshots. Because all I can imagine is straight up headshots, but maybe I'm just missing something.

It looks like mugshots are going to win. And as one of the photoshoppers, I would like to know what variety can be put into them so I can start brainstorming what to do.

Well something to keep in mind is something a lot of other teams seem to do: not necessarily limit their playoff avatars to be team members. So we could have Snoop Dogg, other celebrities, cartoon characters, stuff like that.
Also, it opens the door for the playoff series avatar challenges: "Guilty of Postseason Evasion", "Guilty of Fleeing the Scene".

Mugshots seems to take this poll home, which is a good thing cuz I voted for "Wanted Posters" by mistake.

Definitely a mugshot for me, maybe with a title above like "America's Most Wanted" or "Hockey's Most Wanted" or "HF's Most Wanted" if you guys liked. That could tie in the numbers fairly nicely, too.

I guess I see what you are saying with the Wanted posters. I was maybe just liking the design aspect of the mugshot more than the wanted ad. But, now that I've seen the most recent one, I see that the wanted poster could look okay.

I think if I saw another mock-up of the wanted ad, I might like it better...

i won't be able to use them until after the playoffs have started but personally i would go with the mugshot. i like the play on the wild wild west theme and i'm sure our friends on various other boards would give us more than enough suggestions as to the crime each has commited

I like old west style wanted poster with the fu-manchu style mustache.

I think we should just come up with better ideas, who says these can be the only options

Then come up with a better one. I think there's going to be a re-vote soon, now that there's a better wanted poster prototype and some people seem to have changed their minds. Come up with an idea before the vote and it can be included.

I change my vote to wanted posters. those new ones look amazing
