NathansPost 03-15-2008, 08:48 PM Don't know if it's close enough for you but Halibut House on Quadra off Mackenzie is our usual Chinese spot. Johnny LaRue 03-15-2008, 08:53 PM That would be fine as I have a car. Thanks for the info. Do they serve sweet and sour boneless pork sort of stuff, or is it primarily seafood with a name like "Halibut House"? timw33 03-15-2008, 09:25 PM J J Noodle House on Fort. pitseleh 03-15-2008, 11:28 PM Sampan is my favourite Chinese place in Victoria. Good food (not too greasy), huge portions, and reasonable prices. Johnny LaRue 03-15-2008, 11:38 PM I tried the Halibut House first, and it was pretty good. Thanks for the recommendation from everyone, I will try the others later. Sandlak 03-15-2008, 11:50 PM JJ is good, but a bit pricey. I always order from Szechuan. Not Szechuan City. . .Szechuan. Across from Save-on-Foods Centre. Shaka 03-16-2008, 12:07 AM Purple Garden at Cedar Hill X road and Shelbourne is great. They close pretty early though. Radiolad 03-16-2008, 10:34 AM I used to live in Victoria up until a year ago and we always went to Sampan. Very Good. MOJO 03-16-2008, 10:49 AM Don Mee (dim sum) Mings (upper end) Both are famous in the city Johnny LaRue 03-16-2008, 12:22 PM Mings, mmm good. I want you all to know that Chinese Food is a harsh mistress, especially when you're eating it alone. You get three plates for some variety, and after you eat a third of it, you're in pain. What is nice is that there is more chinese food to come :) ZombieMatt 03-16-2008, 12:27 PM J J Noodle House on Fort. Is that the one at Fort/Vancouver? I know there is a Noodle House there that I walk past every day on my way to work that I don't think I've ever looked at the sign to find out what it's actually called. spamojones 03-16-2008, 09:52 PM JJ is good, but a bit pricey. Spicy Crispy Ginger Beef is delicious. timw33 03-16-2008, 09:53 PM Is that the one at Fort/Vancouver? Yeah, Fort and Vancouver sounds right. Johnny LaRue 03-17-2008, 07:52 AM I was just walking around Fisgard yesterday and there are many Chinese food restaurants around these, but they are closer to the downtown. | ||
