They'll make it, I can't fathom them missing it, even if their trend is so terrible over the last couple of months. Right now, though, I can't see them making it as anything better than a 6, considering where they were earlier in the season, that is berzerk. The Rangers and Devils got off to god-awful starts. The Sens couldn't lose. The Devils are 1 up on them with 2 games at hand, so, they're up as many as 5. (Keeping in mind we're 2-2-1 lately) The Rangers are 2 back with a game at hand. The Rangers will put them in the rearview mirror within a week or two. But you're right, they probably will make it. But imagine if they didn't? That's hockey's version of the 2007 Mets right there (sigh). The way the Rangers have been going lately I wouldn't be surprised to see them at the top of the Atlantic and East soon. Their 5 wins in a row against us look really huge for them right now. We have 3 games remaining against them, along with 2 against Pittsburgh. It's safe to say that those 5 games will definitely determine where we end up at the end of the regular season. guyincognito 03-07-2008, 02:34 AM They could put us in the same rearview mirror you know. We have 3 games remaining against them, along with 2 against Pittsburgh. It's safe to say that those 5 games will definitely determine where we end up at the end of the regular season. It's possible, but it wouldn't be a shock if they caught and passed us. Except for when the Rangers had their midseason run of suck, the teams have always been pretty close. The Sens had us and the Rangers and everyone else blown away, now it looks like they're going to limp into the 6 seed only because the teams behind them are so bad. I guess Boston could catch them, but after the last couple of games.... Isles and Sabres aren't gonna catch them and Washington might get in, but it's gonna be alot of work for them to catch the Sens. Clarkson Falls Down 03-07-2008, 02:37 AM It's absolute anarchy over on the Sens board right now. They're much worse than we get. britdevil 03-07-2008, 05:09 AM Couple of helpful results, more non-helpful results than good though. Julienball still cracks me up, who penned that term??? Someone on the boards? DevilsFan38 03-07-2008, 08:40 AM We got some big favors last night from the Panthers and Kings, let's hope the Devils can take advantage of that tonight. Although Hnidy should have gotten a dive, since he sold it like he got hit by a truck and then popped up to his feet right after the call. And now another penalty, so, a full 5 on 3, and they're still on the PP for the rest of regulation if they don't score on that. guyincognito 03-08-2008, 04:22 PM Bruins scored on one of their many PP's. Still plenty more to come. EDIT: Bruins scored again after the initial long 5 on 3 ended and they got ANOTHER 5 on 3. So, 2-1 and they're still on the PP with 2 minutes left. Total meltdown by Brashear killed them. The other two calls were questionable and would make Sutter angry. Dialamo 03-08-2008, 05:06 PM Brashear! WHY? I want Wasington to make the playoffs! Hellsempire 03-08-2008, 05:27 PM Boston wins 2-1 over Washington. Brashear's penalties costed Washington the game. Big win for Boston who was creamed two out of their last three losses in a row. Montreal and LA are scoreless in the 1st period. guyincognito 03-08-2008, 05:30 PM Kings scored a PP goal, but the ref decided that couldn't happen and called a "son of foot in the crease rule" incidental contact. As good as the Wings are, both Datsyuk and Zetterberg are beginning to challenge Forsberg for the best diver title, it makes me sick why the refs don't call these guys for diving. Brooklyndevil 03-09-2008, 07:25 PM Anyone else believe that the Washington coach made a mistake having a rookie offensive player out there in the last minute of a major game for them? We'll have to start worrying about them soon. Karan 03-10-2008, 11:28 PM I actually thought that game yesterday was very fun to watch, as most hockey is. But again, if the Devils played that exact same game, which they do alot, it would have been a ***** and moan festival the likes that HFBoards has never seen. No, no it wouldn't. Thats a mentality of the past which might linger but I think its slowly changing now. Infact I think Devils games are some of the most interesting to watch these days, just cause they always seem so close right till the final buzzer. And yesterday's game was a pretty good example of that despite the lack of scoring. Even the night when NJ beat Montreal 4-0, Montreal fans complained about how we are "ruining" the game. I usually don't give a **** what others think but holy god, the hypocrisy is amazing. guyincognito 03-10-2008, 11:33 PM You dont frequent the main board often do you? Dunno why anyone reads the main board other than to entertain themselves. It's a "town hall" for whining. Build up your whining arguement in your home group and then take it to the main board en masse. ILikeItVeryMuch 03-10-2008, 11:37 PM Have you seen his attempted breakaway in his first game as a Blue? :( Yes, I did :( Karan 03-10-2008, 11:37 PM You dont frequent the main board often do you? Actually I probably frequent the board more than the Rangers board. Meh Habs fan's complain about anything and everything under the Sun. sattar18 03-10-2008, 11:38 PM You dont frequent the main board often do you? I usually don't give a **** what others think but holy god, the hypocrisy is amazing. funny thing is, it mostly montreal fans that still think NJ is boring, but if there team was in a 0-0 tie it would be good defense, they finally have a good team in a long time and they think they own the world :shakehead i really dont like to generalize them into one group because i have talked to quiet a few habs fans who are very reasonable and can carry a smart hockey conversation but the majority are whiny, fans who think everything should be handed to them because there the habs  Karan 03-10-2008, 11:39 PM Dunno why anyone reads the main board other than to entertain themselves. Its makes for some pretty good entertainment once the other team's fans start to call out the whiners though. :naughty: ILikeItVeryMuch 03-10-2008, 11:41 PM And Ola is one of the best examples. Check him out. Reilly is also another one, hes stuck in 1995, having flashbacks of watching his Wings get outplayed, embarassed, and swept. Agenda driven to the bone. People want to know why us Devils fans are so defensive? This is the reason. Elias to Parise 03-10-2008, 11:43 PM You dont frequent the main board often do you? We'll have to start worrying about them soon. I think the more impressive stats are: - 15-3-3 in their last 21 games - Best record against the East with 36-17-7 (most wins and least losses against of any Eastern team against their own conference) - 10-0-3 in their last 13 - Tied with NJ for the most home wins in the East with 22 - Second to NJ in GA with 171 (and thats even more scary-- at least for teams who don't have Brodeur-- considering the terrible 6 week stretch or so that Hank started 2008 with) Clarkson Falls Down 03-10-2008, 11:57 PM I think the more impressive stats are: - 15-3-3 in their last 21 games - Best record against the East with 36-17-7 (most wins and least losses against of any Eastern team against their own conference) - 10-0-3 in their last 13 - Tied with NJ for the most home wins in the East with 22 - Second to NJ in GA with 171 (and thats even more scary-- at least for teams who don't have Brodeur-- considering the terrible 6 week stretch or so that Hank started 2008 with) No question that the Rangers are a serious threat. I don't want any part of them in the first round. guyincognito 03-10-2008, 11:59 PM Remember, its only the trap if its done with a Red, white and black jersey. Ola has brain damage and thinks he can break down hockey using a TV across the Atlantic. Watch a normal SD hockey game and tell me how many times a game you're in an "incomplete information" situation, it's gotta be about 95% of the time. EDIT: Scoreless in LA. guyincognito 03-11-2008, 12:32 AM Cam Janssen update: Through 2: 4:41, 1 hit, 1 missed shot. Blues are down 4-2. guyincognito 03-11-2008, 12:48 AM Cam Janssen update: Through 2: 4:41, 1 hit, 1 missed shot. Blues are down 4-2. OH MY GOD. Janssen just got an assist. A primary assist at that. Came out of the penalty box, he got the puck in deep, spun and sent one back to Boyes at the circle, who buried it. Unfortunately for him, the Blues are still losing, 6-3. DevFan-RU- 03-11-2008, 01:52 AM No question that the Rangers are a serious threat. I don't want any part of them in the first round. I do. We can beat those jerks. britdevil 03-11-2008, 09:32 AM How did you expect the team to do anything when they were getting jobbed by the refs all night and stuck on the PK? :help: Ignorant comment. But expected. Congrats on being the first poster to meet my ignore list. guyincognito 03-11-2008, 11:02 PM Bumping the OoTS, the Leafs have come from 3-0 down to tie. If this game goes to OT, the Flyers automatically lose. Isles got clubbed like a baby seal by the Lightning. Sens are on their way to or already have beaten the Bruins. As expected, the Avs took out the Thrashers. We'll have the playoff clinch update after this Flyers/Leafs game. | ||
