Mats Sundin? or Oli Jokinen?

I was just thinking what it would take to get one of the two, either one would be a perfect fit for Gionta, and would they possibly be moved for just a good package of AHLers, or what? Just throwing it out

What about

Either

TOR Gets: Greene, Vrana, & 2nd
NJ Gets: Sundin

or

FLA Gets: Greene, Bergfors, Fraser, & 1st
NJ Gets: Jokinen, & Possible Allen

THat Sundin trade will never in a million years happen. The Jokinen trade is a better offer.

If the Leafs & Panthers are that stupid, Lou would have pulled off one of the biggest steals in recent NHL history.

But in reality, Cliff Fletcher & Jacques Martin would probably die of laughter from those suggestions.

Edit: Throw in Parise with that Florida offer for Horton. ;)

I'd like to have Jokinen, since he's signed for next year too.

Gionta, Vrana and a first round pick in exchange for Jokinen.

Can we keep all the trade dreams contained in 1 thread?

Better wording.

Can we delete this thread before fans of other teams see our proposals and laugh their ***** off at how dumb we are?

hmmm stinkin lousy aging swede(sorry devilswede:Di kid i kid)
or
kick ass in his prime finn

i know im a broken record but ill take jokinen 9 days outta the week, 28.5 hours a day and 4300 days of the year over sundin. i still think sundin is a phenomenal player, but at his age, salary and loyalty to the leafs id pass. even if hes moved at the deadline(im saying to detroit), im sure hes gonna resign with the leafs at seasons end, and finish his career there. and i wouldnt call anything a pipe dream nowadays. jokinen can be had and it wouldnt HAVE to include parise id wager. gionta isnt chop liver and the prospects and or picks arent a bad thing either. i realize the voltron card cant be played to make trades, but gionta is gonna be the sweetner to any offers lou makes. he can be had, im sure of it. only the salary cap concerns me.

and i second or third the motion for a single trade/proposal/wishlist thread

Why would we trade Parise for Horton? It would pretty much be a lateral move. Actually it might even be a downgrade since he's on pace for less points than Zach.

Why?

Because having a big, North American Center (the position where Horton belongs) who can fight will make his wingers exponentially better, which will give us a true & lethal #1 line.

A line of Elias/Horton/Gionta would be the best thing we have ever had since Jason Arnott and the "A" line.

Parise brings his A game every single shift and NEVER slacks off... NEVER !!! I'm not saying that Horton wouldn't be welcome here but not at the cost of Parise. I'd give up Gionta, Bergfors and even our 1st round pick for Horton but not Parise.

Jokinen by a mile. Sundin's great but he's not playing anywhere else but Toronto next year.. he will retire a leaf and have his Jersey in the rafters and not even a cup would keep him from doing that.

As for the trade offers, they've been bashed enough so I won't make any sarcastic comments, but we just don't have the kind of youth Toronto is looking for IMO. Florida on the other hand may want some of our more "experienced" assets but I still think that we don't have a package to offer for either player that wont cripple us more than help us.

Its much harder to go from wing to center than to center from a wing. I don't think Horton has ever played center before and even if he was converted, he might not even do well there.

Aside from that, I'd rather see Elias traded before Parise. Parise is more consistent.

Sundin > Jokinen

Would rather have Sundin. He is a better player and can score a lot of goals on the right line. Devils would have to make a good trade for him which would include Gionta.

Because of the reasons that have already been said in this thread, I would take Jokinen over Sundin. Jokinen may not be the better of the two, but he wouldn't be just a playoff-rental. Everyone wants Sundin on their team, but it would take too much to get him. And it would be for such a short period of time.

I don't want to give up Bergfors. He will be good.

Sundin is better, but Jokinen would be for longer, like the person above me just stated.

After seeing lazy Mats "Mr. Soft' Sundin get pwned yesterday in the 8-0 loss to FLO..no thanks. "Duh...what is backchecking?"

BTW...after the 8th goal, it was funny seeing the Make Belief fans do the mock clap ritual. :biglaugh:
