Lukowich was another :biglaugh: That's why this whole nonsense about Nieds killing the Devils by waiting is so overrated. It would have killed the Devils if Rafalski had also left but he was a loyal soldier and waited around. If anything he hurt the Ducks a lot more this season than he ever did us by forcing them to trade McDonald. Anyway as for my guess, 16,425. The only "big" d-man that wasn't a Devil, I think, was Gonchar, who has done a good job for the Pens after the worst two or three months played by an offensive defenseman in hockey history, to get things started. They got him on August 3rd. So we had time to bid, he got 5 for $25M. devsfan4life 02-06-2008, 11:30 PM I'll be giving Nieds a hand, I can't wait to watch him play again. as for the guess: 16,943 The Cuban 02-07-2008, 02:51 AM 16732 britdevil 02-07-2008, 05:17 AM 16,963 Boo the crap out of him, he hurt us, he hurt the ducks this year, and hurt me by not coming to London... I thought of Gonchar soon after but figured the Devils were never going to be in the bidding anyway considering the years and money involved. Lou (at least then) was finicky about giving long-term deals to players that had never been Devils before, evidently the cap's changed his philosophy with Zubrus this year. Does anyone remember what free agent defenseman were available that summer? The guy played 13 full seasons with the Devils and was an integral part of winning three stanley cups. He's one of the most gifted players the Devils have ever had. When he left all he did was excercise his right as a Free Agent. If that left the Devils in a bind it was more Lou's fault than anyone's. The guy deserves a standing ovation from the fans, quite frankly. I wish I was going so that I could do that. I will give him the applause he deserves from the Devils nation. He is an all time great Devil and anyone who plans to boo him should reconsider. He left to play with his brother-and took less money so it wasn't about greed, Gomez-cough. It was a difficult decision that Scott needed time to think about. He enjoyed playing here and had nothing but great memories. Booing him would show a lack of class and hockey sense by Devils fans. The guy to boo tonight is Giggy who undeservedly was awarded the Conn Smythe in 2003 instead of Marty or Friesen or Langs. jerseydevil 02-08-2008, 12:23 PM So many tickets left...I predict 15,084 guyincognito 02-08-2008, 10:20 PM 15,332 Crappy on paper, but it looked like there were more people there than that. If those were the same price/discount as the rest of the 65's, that's 16K right there. But I have to apologize to you for not knowing the basics of the pricing chart. I just checked them hard tonight for the first time and I didn't realize how ridiculous the balcony prices are considering that you can pay 35 dollars less to sit a couple rows up. And yes, they were totally empty tonight. Those prices need to be 65 dollars at the max. The attendance could be much better if those were better priced. Even the lower seats are selling a bit. DevsOwnYou 02-08-2008, 11:18 PM Boo to the fans that did not go tonight and did not have a real good reason why.
