I opened this thread thinking that there was doubt he would start. I realized I wasted a minute of my life.

The only reason I asked is that whenever I do actually get the chance to see some of the Eastern Conference teams' games on TV, like the Devils or the Islanders for example, it's always my luck that Brodeur or DiPietro has the night off the night I'm watching.

You have some pretty crappy luck then haha. Brodeur played 79 games last season and you didn't get to see one?

I guess that's another reason I asked too. Having my home team be the Detroit Red Wings, we Wings fans see them alternate between Hasek and Osgood, god forbid they should call up Jimmy Howard from Grand Rapids (AHL) for a night. So, I try to get the rotation schedule down pat, but it doesn't always work. That's why I'm amazed that Martin Brodeur starts almost every single game for you guys. There's no way the Wings would let Hasek or Osgood do that. You guys have to have a back-up to fill in with Brodeur needs a rest, don't you?

What’s a back up?

No back up, just an official bench door supervisor and post-game high-five specialist.

Hasek at 37 started 64 games for you guys back in 2001-02.

The Devils did sign Kevin Weekes in the offseason and we were all under the impression that Brodeur would start more like 65 games instead of 75.....but obviously that hasn't been the case so far.
