NJDevs26 01-30-2008, 06:50 PM That's the thing, the only prediction for this game is how many people are wearing Devils jerseys and how many Rangers jerseys? The better game is predict the number of Devils fans. I'm going to go with 12,355. lex75 01-30-2008, 08:38 PM Definately a sellout - I'm guessing 85% Devils fans. God help me I'm bringing my 4 year old to this one..Hopefully he doesn't get kicked out of daycare for all the new choice words he's going to learn from the crowd! :shakehead Jiri Bicek 01-30-2008, 08:41 PM A sellout without question.. The games should be a sellout. britdevil 02-01-2008, 10:05 AM When your team plays that bad can you blame the Flyers fans for being speechless? I think its more likely that the Rags bored the crap out of the Philly masses. Flyers - Devils games have been my favourite games this year, even though the Flyers have played bad agaisnt us, their fans have still been good. Also the Rangers games at the Rock and MSG have sucked, its that teams style. Its ugly to watch. SingnBluesOnBroadway 02-01-2008, 10:09 AM I think its more likely that the Rags bored the crap out of the Philly masses. Easy to be bored when the home team is dominated in every aspect of the game. I'm not gonna lie though, if Gomez got hurt I wouldn't feel the least bit bad, but I digress. Other than that hopefully it's a clean, and competitive game that has it's share of fire. This seasons games thus far haven't had the flare I think we're all used to. I'm sure can can probably bet on Avery and/or Clarkson maybe getting the fire started tonight. The overpriced seats were FULL of Ranger fans. Upper deck, not so much. Dunno what the split was, but it was the most in a long time. Not 80-20 like it was right after the lockout. I'm surprised the Rangers didn't salute the crowd. The Devils deserve to be shown up. Muttley 02-01-2008, 10:37 PM I would say it was a 70/30 split. 5,000-6,000 NYR fans who all had to pay for the expensive seats (thank you) is a fair assessment. They were extra loud and they have a reason to be, as both NYR fans and their team have owned us this season and have rightfully developed a swagger. I despise and loathe this, but hey, we have dominated them for so long and it was only a matter of time before things would even out the last 2 seasons and now the tables have momentarily turned. NJDevs26 02-02-2008, 12:07 AM It was a sellout right? It didn't look like every seat was filled. The seats that were filled looked like a 55-45 split. At some points I thought it was 50-50 but the Devil fans were loud (so loud I'm starting to be skeptical that some of the boos for Gomez are being piped in) and into it. Sarge18 02-02-2008, 02:03 AM It was 70/30 at the most. The Ranger fans were mostly in the $65 seats in 122-124 that no Devil fan in their right mind would pay $100 or $65 for, even for a game like this. There was also a large bunch of them in the $20-$25 seats in 214 and 215 where the Rangers shot twice. I was at the terrace tables by Jimmy Buffs and took note of the noise and people standing when either team scored and it wasn't even close. When Parise scored it was overwhelmingly Devil fans in the place. When the Rangers scored, it was just a few scattered people in most sections and a few larger groups in just a couple sections. The Brooklyn Barclay's Center arena was actually built and the Devils would have never gotten their Newark Arena deal approved in the early 2000's, and the team was sold to Bruce Ratner and moved to Brooklyn with the Nets and became the Brooklyn Devils. And furthemore, let's say the Phoneix Coyotes never got their Jobbing.com Arena built in Glendale, AZ and decided to move east to lets hypothetically say, a new Newark Arena that was finally, approved and built, and became the New Jersey Coyotes. You'd continue to follow Brodeur, Lamoriello and the Brooklyn Devils and consider yourself of fan of that team, as opposed to changing your allegience to the New Jersey Coyotes. The "logic" I was pointing out relates to rooting for a team that isnt geographically from the area where you are from (assuming there IS a team in place in the area that you're from of course). Sorry, but if you were born and raised in Boston, you should be a Red Sox fan, not a Seattle Mariner fan. I tend to find that people who buck this trend just want to be "different" and are generally toolboxes in other facets of their lives. The reason I'm a Rangers fan is because the year I got into watching hockey as a little kid all the time was 93/94. I bet if the Debs had won it, I'd be as big a Devil fan as I am a Rangers fan.
