Which ones are good? I used to use Sonic (roxio 8) a while back and it was decent, but it would have problems with dvdr burning errors. I have a bunch of video's of my nephews and nieces that i want to convert in to dvd's that can play on regular dvd players and not just the divx ones. My cousins were asking me if i could do that for them since it was on my video cam.
So which is the best one to buy?
Nero
Roxio

For just burning DVD's I like to use DVD shrink +IMGburn both are free programs which work for about 95%+ of the DVD's I need to backup (DVDfab HD decrypter for the other 5% works). For converting other format to DVD, you might need to pay for a program to get a good one, I haven't been able to get a good one for free, I haven't looked for a while since I've got a DVD player that plays divx, but when I last looked for a good converter, the only way I could get one without paying was by using a crack.
EDIT: Haha just noticed that you are willing to buy :) Im too cheap for that, but I've heard Nero is top notch, but I'm not 100% sure not having any experience with it.

Infrarecorder - it's free as well
Nero 7/8 is too damn bloated any more, whereas IR does everything I need, for 99% of tasks.
Outside of Nero and Roxio/Sonic...i haven't even heard of these other ones. Time to hit google and look them up.

To encode and burn DVD's I use DVD Shrink. I'm not sure if it's the best program out there, but it's simple and gets the job done.
If I'm using my Mac, Handbrake is a great app.

Why do you need good burning software? Isn't it included with burner.
