Mooseduck 01-04-2008, 11:09 PM Good start - too easy looking. I like the lines tonight. McDonald19 01-04-2008, 11:14 PM There is some bad defense being played by both teams right now... snarktacular 01-04-2008, 11:17 PM Was that Marchant-Sutherby-Bertuzzi just out? WTH? McDonald19 01-04-2008, 11:21 PM Was that Marchant-Sutherby-Bertuzzi just out? WTH? just a long shift by Bert...Parros ended up with a short shift because of it. snarktacular 01-04-2008, 11:29 PM Holy crap. Did they just say Carter is 73% in faceoffs since coming back? Dayam. Static 01-04-2008, 11:31 PM I like how Moen went to the net there....good play. snarktacular 01-04-2008, 11:33 PM I like how Moen went to the net there....good play. ____ ran the goalie! Rabble rabble! Static 01-04-2008, 11:34 PM The puck movement was good on that ppl....Ryan needs to be stronger on the puck. Lost it too easily. snarktacular 01-04-2008, 11:37 PM The puck movement was good on that ppl....Ryan needs to be stronger on the puck. Lost it too easily. I was just going to say that Ryan needs to strengthen up because he lost the puck way too easily. Dammit. Uh. Back to the PK then. Static 01-04-2008, 11:39 PM Bad call on the Hawks...good things happen when you go to the net. Mooseduck 01-04-2008, 11:41 PM Perry again! Nope Kunitz !!! 2-0 Static 01-04-2008, 11:41 PM Well done. Sandman33 01-04-2008, 11:41 PM The puck movement was good on that ppl....Ryan needs to be stronger on the puck. Lost it too easily. I've noticed that in the games I have see him play too. I just coughed it up to him being so young. Fighter 01-04-2008, 11:42 PM Kunitz with the goal, but another awesome play by Perry. :handclap: snarktacular 01-04-2008, 11:43 PM Hawks get screwed by a bad call. Perry scores on the slowest backhand ever. I don't think Kunitz actually deflected it. lux_interior 01-04-2008, 11:46 PM He did. Good period by the Ducks. So what's the deal with the fact or fiction? Patrick Kane's first NHL goal was not his first career NHL goal? WTH? Ducksforcup 01-04-2008, 11:47 PM He did. Good period by the Ducks. So what's the deal with the fact or fiction? Patrick Kane's first NHL goal was not his first career NHL goal? WTH? My mom figured it out. He scored in the Pre-season, but that wasn't counted as a NHL goal. EDIT: It could be the SO thing too. That sounds correct. Anyway, good period for the Ducks. Hiller made some spectacular saves on that one shift and the Ducks did the rest. snarktacular 01-04-2008, 11:48 PM He did. Good period by the Ducks. So what's the deal with the fact or fiction? Patrick Kane's first NHL goal was not his first career NHL goal? WTH? Junior league with the initials NHL? Haha, Nubla is apparently only 4 inches shorter than 6'3 Perry. Static 01-04-2008, 11:48 PM shootout guys. He probably scored in a shootout, which doesnt count as a goal. Mooseduck 01-04-2008, 11:49 PM He did. Good period by the Ducks. So what's the deal with the fact or fiction? Patrick Kane's first NHL goal was not his first career NHL goal? WTH? I would imagine he scored a shootout goal (not recorded) before an actual goal in the NHL. Ducksforcup 01-04-2008, 11:49 PM Holy crap. Did they just say Carter is 73% in faceoffs since coming back? Dayam. Yah, he has just been insane in the faceoff circle. He looks good again today. It really is a shame they may send him down just because of the waiver issue. He is playing so well. Checking line looked good in the first btw. Static 01-04-2008, 11:50 PM Some quick investigating shows that Chicago beat Detroit in a shootout in the 2nd game of the year, with none other than Patrick Kane scoring the only shootout goal. lux_interior 01-04-2008, 11:51 PM My mom figured it out. Yo momma wears army boots. karacter 01-04-2008, 11:58 PM ya i only heard kane's name on the last shift right before schneider knocked him on his ass:handclap:. Just hit that little **** and im sure he will go away. Anyway nice plays by perry just doing what he does, shooting the puck and going to the net, everyone else needs to do more of that. I like the look of our PP, but i hate seeing Getzlaf and Perry split apart . but hell it makes both our PP's very dangerous. PK was good that period, all of those calls were borderline IMO, i think the refs are doing terrble, but atleast they are fiar. snarktacular 01-05-2008, 12:01 AM Yo momma wears army boots. Ni mama hou shou yang shang ya kei lei. Mooseduck 01-05-2008, 12:02 AM Stupid goal - lazy defense  Static 01-05-2008, 12:03 AM Where are the defensemen?? karacter 01-05-2008, 12:04 AM is there a reason there are 2 ducks that don't take out the man or the puck? and why the hell did the extra guy go to make an extra check and leave the center? Gosh:shakehead sometimes our team pisses me off. snarktacular 01-05-2008, 12:05 AM Lame. Hiller's all spinning and dizzy after a great save, and Beauchemin and Moen are twiddling their thumbs while Sharp bats in the rebound. This seriously is what I'm seeing with Beauchemin this year. Yes his partner has sucked at times, but he gets beat a lot more too. karacter 01-05-2008, 12:06 AM oh quick questions...does anyone know why huskins is wearing a shield? He looks europeon in it lol. Ducksforcup 01-05-2008, 12:06 AM Hiller made another great stop, but the rebound was put in. :( snarktacular 01-05-2008, 12:15 AM It's a small world factoid: Versteeg, who's playing his 5th NHL game and got an assist on that goal, was the guy Boston traded to Chicago for Bochenski. This period's not looking so good. Weather the storm, guys. Ducksforcup 01-05-2008, 12:25 AM Ducks look horrible right now. snarktacular 01-05-2008, 12:27 AM Ducks look horrible right now. They're playing 66 bar <yawn>. Mooseduck 01-05-2008, 12:28 AM I'm tired of our vets not being able to finish simple goals. snarktacular 01-05-2008, 12:29 AM Bah. Kunitz should have passed it to Niedermayer earlier so Niedermayer could pass it to a guy with actual hands for the shot. Fighter 01-05-2008, 12:31 AM Special Nieds just missed on a huge opportunity. snarktacular 01-05-2008, 12:32 AM Ha. The refs missed Byfuglien taking Bertuzzi down, so they let Bertuzzi mug Byfuglien back for a good 5 seconds. Mooseduck 01-05-2008, 12:33 AM lol - like that would happen. Burke needs to dump some of these salary drains. Ducksforcup 01-05-2008, 12:34 AM Well, the Ducks survive. This game is looking similar to the Jacket game. Lets hope that the end result is similar too. :) Fighter 01-05-2008, 12:37 AM No way you're pushed like that in front of your own net. Ducks lacked effort in the second, let's hope for a better third period. lux_interior 01-05-2008, 12:42 AM Does Hayward have a man-crush on Duncan Keith? snarktacular 01-05-2008, 12:43 AM Prime Ticket is claiming that a tree is the weirdest mascot in college sports? What about UCI's anteater? Or the SB banana slug? And as they keep asking in the NCAAs, what's a saluki? Does Hayward have a man-crush on Duncan Keith? Reverse Avery syndrome? Ducks_è_Halos 01-05-2008, 12:47 AM Or the SB banana slug? Hey, it's UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs :teach: (I am one ;)) snarktacular 01-05-2008, 12:49 AM Hey, it's UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs :teach: (I am one ;)) Whoops. I knew that. Do you have an actual guy in a slug costume? (Pictures!) Hawks have 14 scoring chances on 14 shots. Yeah, yeah, you can have a scoring chance witout a shot. Still. That's crazy. snarktacular 01-05-2008, 01:00 AM Bertuzzi shows why he rarely shoots with one so-so shot and one nothing shot on glorious scoring chances. Ryan stripped of the puck easily again leading to a clear. Good looking powerplays, but no goal. Fighter 01-05-2008, 01:02 AM What was Ryan thinking trying to stickhandle between two defenders and no one covering him? Heck, one of them was Sharp who has more SHGs than even strenght goals lol. Mooseduck 01-05-2008, 01:03 AM Does Hayward have a man-crush on Duncan Keith? Giguere isn't playing tonight and when the cat's away the mice will play. ;) Jezz* 01-05-2008, 01:06 AM And as they keep asking in the NCAAs, what's a saluki?A saluki is a breed of dog. god this team blows. Getting outworked by a team on the tail end of a back to back. :shakehead snarktacular 01-05-2008, 01:11 AM Ruutu kicked Schneider's feet from under him. A saluki is a breed of dog. Yeah I know. I figured it out like 6 NCAA tournaments ago. And yet the TV crew keeps repeating it each year. Teemu 01-05-2008, 01:16 AM Ruutu kicked Schneider's feet from under him. Makes up for Bertuzzi's dry-humping of Byfuglien :D snarktacular 01-05-2008, 01:17 AM Moen thinks he's playing soccer. Hiller shall henceforth be known as Jonas "Ping" Hiller. PP for Ducks. Kill off some clock and don't let Sharp score a SHG. Makes up for Bertuzzi's dry-humping of Byfuglien :D Nah, Bertuzzi's dry-humping was made up by Byfuglien's taking him down seconds before. It makes up for that "penalty" that gave the Ducks the 2nd goal. Fighter 01-05-2008, 01:22 AM Perry nearly with the hat-trick. Fighter 01-05-2008, 01:23 AM 5 on 3, let's close this damn game. Mooseduck 01-05-2008, 01:27 AM Ducks Win Good to get the points. byungshin34 01-05-2008, 01:30 AM I would love if we could win a few more games by a score higher than 2-1. Our offense and PP could seriously use someone with more finish. snarktacular 01-05-2008, 01:30 AM Pretty good game by Hiller. A few nice sequences. Lackluster win though. The team was dominated a lot of the time by a depleted team. Lots of poor defense tonight. And we still have no offense. Yay 4 points! Ducksforcup 01-05-2008, 01:32 AM Pretty good game by Hiller. A few nice sequences. Lackluster win though. The team was dominated a lot of the time by a depleted team. Lots of poor defense tonight. And we still have no offense. Yay 4 points! Yah, Hiller was incredible this game. I am shocked that he wasn't at least the 2nd star. Overall, the Duck team wasn't that great today, but they got the job done again. :) Fighter 01-05-2008, 01:33 AM Good victory for a team who played only one period. paincorp 01-05-2008, 03:15 AM I was the Kings fan sitting literally right next to Giggy at the bench tonight. (No Joke). Yes, the guy who held his jersey up during Perry's interview. Anyway... You people should have seen Carlyle's face after that 2nd period! I wish Crawford would show emotion like that after a crap period. When they came back out for the third, you could tell that most of them had half an a$$ left from the other half being bitten off by Randy. The early goal was nice. The 2nd one too. There should have been a third when Schneider was at the point on the PP, passed it to Getz and darted toward the net and took out the D-man to open up the shot from Pronger. I literally had the perfect angle to see that shot just barely miss the open left corner. Beautiful play by Matty to open that up. Other than those moments, They played pretty bad. Pronger looked pissed half the time when he'd come back to the bench, believe me, I was 5 feet away from him half the night. One shift he came back and slammed the door so hard I thought the boards were going to fall. I kept saying the Ducks were playing with a desperate team to only be up by one. When they didn't score on the 5-3, I thought the Hawks were going to score the equalizer and almost did in those last few seconds. When the buzzer went off, the Ducks looked more relieved than happy. Carlyle left quickly. I have a feeling practice will be extra tough tomorrow. If you ever get to sit in a seat like I did tonight, JUMP AT THE CHANCE! Even if it is not your team. It is the most awesome feeling ever in Hockey besides playing. I felt like I was on the bench. It was sacrelidge, but I actually rooted for the Ducks tonight. Being that close to their conversations and struggle made you root for them. I had to represent my team with the jersey though. Best part of the night for me was Todd Bertuzzi staring me down for about 5 seconds, looking at the jersey, and then tapping Giggy on the leg and smiling. He got it. Made my night. It didn't hurt getting pics from 5 feet away of Scott Neidermayer and Chris Pronger sitting together on the bench. Anyway, just thought I'd share the experience. Ducks got lucky tonight. Chicago could have easily beat them. MOENing 01-05-2008, 03:19 AM What were the lines? Spankatola Jamnuts 01-05-2008, 04:12 AM One of the coolest things about Perry is that he can score a goal and a bunch of points and still leave you wondering what the hell his problem is. I think I counted about 10 great chances he screwed up. Chone 01-05-2008, 04:40 AM One of the coolest things about Perry is that he can score a goal and a bunch of points and still leave you wondering what the hell his problem is. I think I counted about 10 great chances he screwed up. He got some bad breaks. Like the deflection that hit the underside of the cross bar. He got a few around the net where Khabibulin just made some great saves. I think Khabibulin was definitely the player of the game. At least he is getting everything on goal this year, last year he would fire wide and hit the post on a bunch of grade A opportunities. karacter 01-05-2008, 05:15 AM One of the coolest things about Perry is that he can score a goal and a bunch of points and still leave you wondering what the hell his problem is. I think I counted about 10 great chances he screwed up. haha definitely and it was well said after that he had some bad breaks and their goalie was outstanding tonight. The only thing i can say is that i hope he keeps scoring so he keeps getting those chances. He gets those cuz he has a nose for the puck around the net... i love players like that, he amazes me how manytimes he has the puck right in front of the net or the slot, he can always get open and with some more luck can be a 40 goal scorer for the ducks for years to come(i know we gotta resign him first.) iLau 01-05-2008, 07:16 AM I can't believe this team still manages to get points, ugly game but I'll take the points. Yay 4 points! Ps. Hiller played a really solid game, especially in the last few seconds of the 3rd. Duckstudd269 01-05-2008, 07:46 AM Yah, he has just been insane in the faceoff circle. He looks good again today. It really is a shame they may send him down just because of the waiver issue. He is playing so well. Checking line looked good in the first btw. what waiver issue? Mooseduck 01-05-2008, 09:00 AM I was the Kings fan sitting literally right next to Giggy at the bench tonight. (No Joke). Yes, the guy who held his jersey up during Perry's interview. Anyway... Anyway, just thought I'd share the experience. Ducks got lucky tonight. Chicago could have easily beat them. Did the camera add 80 pounds?:dumbo: What's with the glasses? (http://www.laserforeyes.com/ourdoctors.html) Pwnasaurus 01-05-2008, 10:27 AM Did the camera add 80 pounds?:dumbo: What's with the glasses? (http://www.laserforeyes.com/ourdoctors.html) You didn't need glasses to see that, all you had to do was hear the 26 crossbars and posts Blackhawks hit. The Ducks uninspired play after the 1st was awful. We need to start to put teams away. Elvstrand 01-05-2008, 10:42 AM What were the lines? I wanna know to, I've been trying to figure out the lines from NHL.com's event summary and score summary and this is what I got: Kunitz - Getzlaf - Perry Bertuzzi - Weight - Ryan Moen - Carter - R. Niedermayer Sutherby - Marchant - Parros S. Niedermayer - Beauchemin Pronger - O'Donnell Schneider - Huskins Hiller Giguere Carter and Marchant has pretty much the same amount of icetime, not sure who was the 3:rd line and 4:th line center, but Carter were one the ice with Moen and R. Niedermayer on the Blackhawks goal... Meh, Bochenski didn't play whatsoever... High Glove 01-05-2008, 11:40 AM Is it me or was Hayward especially critical of the Ducks on the telecast. I thought he was going to blow an o-ring toward the end of the second period. Michael Scofield 01-05-2008, 12:38 PM 11-0-1 now last 12 games vs Chicago. not bad. good game last night snarktacular 01-05-2008, 01:05 PM Apparently Hiller was in because Jiggy had flu-like symptoms. Hiller might play again tonight. Hopefully he can keep up the strong play. When they came back out for the third, you could tell that most of them had half an a$$ left from the other half being bitten off by Randy. Good that you enjoyed being at the Pond. Although I never understood why some fans wear the jersey of a 3rd team. You're a Kings fan, whatever, but the Kings have nothing to do with the Ducks or Hawks. Why not just wear normal clothes? Funny thing, ass is not censored. Say it all you want. Ass, assidy, assinine, asshat. But the plural is. ***** Of course you could always add an extra s and get assess. One of the coolest things about Perry is that he can score a goal and a bunch of points and still leave you wondering what the hell his problem is. I think I counted about 10 great chances he screwed up. Definitely. I seriously believe that if Perry scored on all the glorious, empty net chances he had he could have at least twice as many goals. what waiver issue? The fact that Carter and Ryan are the only forwards not waiver eligible, but that we have 1 or 2 too many forwards when May and Pahlsson get back. Is it me or was Hayward especially critical of the Ducks on the telecast. I thought he was going to blow an o-ring toward the end of the second period. He was unusually angry. I thought it was amusing. But I can't blame him, we really should have blown out the Blackhawks tonight. They're missing 8 guys to injury, were playing the 3rd game in 4 nights, and had lost 3 in a row. paincorp 01-05-2008, 01:12 PM Did the camera add 80 pounds?:dumbo: What's with the glasses? (http://www.laserforeyes.com/ourdoctors.html) No doctor with a bad case of hiccups is gonna stick some laser knife in MY eye...:yo: The camera added 40...the rest was me.;) I saw the TiVO of the game last night. Love how FOX was sensitive on bench close-ups to keep me just slightly out of the picture. The crown on Perry's shoulder during the post-game ice interview made it all worth it though. paincorp 01-05-2008, 01:28 PM Good that you enjoyed being at the Pond. Although I never understood why some fans wear the jersey of a 3rd team. You're a Kings fan, whatever, but the Kings have nothing to do with the Ducks or Hawks. Why not just wear normal clothes? Funny thing, ass is not censored. Simple. I'm a KINGS fan, not a DUCKS fan. I have loyalty to my team no matter how much they have the propensity to SUCK at times. It doesn't matter what building I'm in...Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Honda center, it doesn't matter...I represent my team, most people actually respect that. It also tends to get me things I wouldn't normally get, like free tickets to a Thrashers game from a cop in Atlanta while on vacation for my family (On my birthday no less) and a private tour of the Air Canada Centre while my family was in Toronto last year. Plus, when it comes to the Ducks, I have to rub it in. I want this rivalry to explode. Great hockey matchups blossom from great rivalries. The Kings/Ducks are not there yet. I'm going to help every chance I get. Did I mention there was a guy literally 5 rows behind me who had the exact same idea I did? Kings hat and jersey...I was so proud! BTW, that's cool that 'ass' isn't censored. Thanks for pointing that out....Ass, assinine, asset, Perry, assure, big ass, Getzlaf, harass, ass-a-riffic, Beauchamin, assholio, s-ass-afrass, Kunitz, associate, hassle, Neil, Parros <for not fighting Koci last night>, ass, ass, ass-idy ass ass. All they do is rush the shot on the powerplay. We have 1:20 left on the clock and they are rushing for shots from horrible angles. snarktacular 01-05-2008, 01:50 PM I wanna know to, I've been trying to figure out the lines from NHL.com's event summary and score summary and this is what I got: Kunitz - Getzlaf - Perry Bertuzzi - Weight - Ryan Moen - Carter - R. Carter and Marchant ended up with the same icetime because Marchant was on the PK, Carter wasn't (all ES last night for him). Although Marchant got a couple shifts with the checking line. If you really want to figure out the lines you can check the TOI game report, and try determine each shift who was out with who. Tedious as hell though, the graphical thing they had last year was better for that. Nikko 01-05-2008, 02:52 PM after being at the game last night i have come to the conclusion that anaheim fans have no sense of time. All they do is rush the shot on the powerplay. We have 1:20 left on the clock and they are rushing for shots from horrible angles. By far my biggest pet peeve at games. You'll have morons literally ready to rip their throats out for exhausting penalty killers with passes. It doesn't matter how many seconds are left in the penalty, sticks are broken, goal line angle of the player with the puck, or wide open cross ice passing lanes there are, you'll still hear about 85% of them going  "SHOOT IT!!!!!" while their heads are looking like they're ready to pop. And I really have no problem with fans who never played or watched the sport before going to games... more power to them for getting into a sport thats truly one of a kind :handclap:, not to mention it helps sell out our games. :yo: But criminy if I go to a basketball game (which I never watch and likewise know squat about) I'm not screaming at the players for doing what I would think they should be doing, because I know I'm probably wrong. :shakehead: Now, in all fairness, at one of the Finals games last year there were 4 Ottawa fans who had made the trip and sat right behind me who went absolutely ape-**** over a hand pass the Ducks made in the defensive zone, screaming at the refs and saying things like "You're obviously born in the OC! Just hand them the cup!" Well I had to stand up and turn around in the middle of play and yell in their faces about why that was legal. Probably not the smartest thing to do when you're in the spill zone of four angry Canucks. :shakehead: Sandman33 01-05-2008, 05:01 PM after being at the game last night i have come to the conclusion that anaheim fans have no sense of time.
