w00t supposedly means "we 0wn 0ther team"


i thought it was just something you shout.

It must be a backronym. People probably created the phrase out of the pre-existing shout.

Kind of makes sense in a techno-geek kind of way.

It's not a backronym that's for sure, I remember people using that way back when quake first came out in MP and on corresponding IRC channels.
