Does any of NHL arenas have similar camera angle? Are you referring to the behind the net camera angle? Redwingsfan 01-02-2008, 08:40 PM i havent really noticed anything special about the camera angle:dunno: Caged Wisdom 01-02-2008, 08:40 PM i havent really noticed anything special about the camera angle:dunno: Me neither :help: Tricolore#20 01-02-2008, 08:43 PM The camera angle is more high up. Also, I think TSN has a different "main" angle than the European broadcaster. That's why all of the rink ads on that one side are Canadian companies. Evil Homer 01-02-2008, 09:12 PM I have noticed a big improvement, especially in the behind the net camera angle. In most televised games, this angle is a waste of time, because you can't really see the play develop that well. This tournament is different, because the behind the net shots seem to be right on top of the play, and you can follow the flow much better. This is the first time I've seen this approach, and I find it to be a very significant improvement. Like Siberian, I wonder if this is a one time deal because of the location of the cameras in this particular arena, or if it could be adopted elsewhere. #11_THEBEST! 01-02-2008, 10:11 PM I hate the angle......It looks as if the camera is on the roof....we need a little bit close-up. mckly 01-02-2008, 10:18 PM I hate the angle......It looks as if the camera is on the roof....we need a little bit close-up. I wanna see sweat! Ice Poutine 01-02-2008, 10:46 PM I wanna see sweat! You'll be happy to hear that the NHL is currently experimenting with a new concept called the "Crotch-Cam" that should satisfy your need for sweat. :sarcasm: Scotcho Libre 01-03-2008, 10:05 AM I love this camera angle. You get a much better view of the flow of the game and can better see potential plays before they happen. If I only had a high definition television it would be perfect. helicecopter 01-03-2008, 05:48 PM The camera angle is more high up. Exactly. And it makes it SO much better. This WJC are a perfect example to appreciate the importance of TV shots for the viewer to enjoy an hockey game. Eurosport is broadcasting the event, i get their channel.. however their shots are so terrible that i'm forced to watch the game online where, thank god, there is the TSN feed with these great shots on the rink, and despite the poorer quality of the picture the game is much more enjoyable. Low cameras kill perspective, make watching an hockey game on tv a dull experience even for a fan like myself. Too bad that seems to be the trend in NHL arenas.. Florida comes to mind.. they had the best shots in the league there, high on the rink and you could follow the game, the puck, the lines for plays.. in that same arena they are now employing pathetic LOW shots... i simply don't watch games from there anymore. And unless is a game i've particular interest into, that's the same for other arenas like Atlanta, Dallas, etc.. hockey will always be a sport penalized on tv but it can still be special IF televised properly.. too bad most people (and NHL) seem to fail to realize what that means. No surprise many non fans who catch hockey on tv and cannot follow the puck nor grasp what happens around the net switch to another channel soon and are left wondering how some people can enjoy that weird thing. YogiCanucks 01-04-2008, 04:32 AM Yeah I don't like the Camera angle but I don't notice it after a while. In terms of interesting cam angles. I really liked the one underneath the score boards at centre ice angling towards the goal. Look really nice on the PP. But it didn't really catch on. | ||
