Please forgive me (this is not laziness) but I was out of the country over Christmas and didn't save the games properly on my PVR. Could someone please give me an update on the two guys I really wanted to watch in this tournament?

Have they played very well or just OK? Has their stock improved or dropped in your eyes based on expectations?

Thanks in advance,

They've both produced (Berglund has 6 points in 4 games so far, Eller 5 in 5), but I haven't been able to watch any of the games, so I can't comment on their actual play. I've heard that Berglund has been great, dominant at times, but I haven't heard any comments on Eller's play yet.

I only watched Eller a couple of times so I'm not sure about him.. but Berglund has been playing well. As ^ says, dominating at times. Easily one of the best swedish forwards so far.

Eller left much to be desired after the Canada game.

I was looking forward to see Lars Eller as well. (saw the first 4 games he played, live).
Eller has been playing on a struggeling team, and haven't had a really god game yet. In the game against Canada (Witch was of no importense) it looked like the coach had given him the freedom to show what he is abel to do. But i think he did put to much presiure on him self, and ****ed it up.
On the upside, He have shown his class in flashes, doing things only a top prospect can do, and he have 5 points in 5 games playing for a team with no victories, and even though he has been far from his best.
If he learns from this, it will only make him stronger.

There is nothing like a piece of Danish.

how so? when i was watching the game, ONE dane caught my eye.. sure enough, it was eller. this was before i even know who it was.. he had me asking myself "who is that guy"

can't really expect a top prospect to dominate when his teammates aren't up to his level. guys like this can't really be judged on his WJC play (based on the fact he is a crap team, trying not to get blown out). his teammates just aren't good enough to make a good player better. the way he plays in the SEL is a much better way to evaluate him.

Patrick Berglund and Michael Backlund were the two best Swedes in the Canada game.

Berglund has had a great tournament. His team is deep enough that he hasn't seen much more than his share of ice, but he has dominated. He has shown power, speed, finesse, touch. He has done much more at this tournament at the #1 centre than Backstrom did last year.

Eller has played well. I would say he has consistently been the second best Danish forward, behind Bodker. He doesn't show the polish that Berglund does, but he is an 89. Eller has done more at this tournament that I saw Berglund do at last year's event.

Berglund has an amazing skill set. An excellent skater, is great at handling the puck, and is just an offensive dynamo. He's probably the best forward at the tournament.

I have no doubt Eller has ability but he let up twice on the backcheck to allow Canada to score twice. The young man was also a penalty machine in the tournament.
