Xbox live

I have a xbox account where i have my games saves, but when i want to use this account to get on xbox live, I cant because the name is already taken. So i have to create a new one. But i dont have my Gamer points :(

Is there a way to use the Singleplayer account and the xbox live account on the same account even if its not the same account name?

Either call microsoft and tell them you just got the internet; and have all your games on one account but when it said the name was taken you made a new one; not even thinking about it. If they don't do anything; You might be boned. And just have to replay for all your gamer points
