Canada still the favorite but they need to keep the scores low in their games here on out.
Sweden is very close second.
USA is third but if they can get on a roll, they will be tough to stop. Lets go Jordan Schroeder :yo:

To me Canada is still the team to beat. Just so much talent, but USA also has alot of talent. Don't think for a second they won't make a push for a gold medal. Canada though, is still the favorite in my opinion.

Ummm, have any of you ever heard of Russia? They have a tough draw with those Czechs but suffice to say if they get by there, it's a toss-up against Sweden.

You got to love Tavares confidence with predicting Canada will win gold. A guy like that with his abundance of skill you get the feeling he wont let you down. But still win or lose they have to get rid of Craig Hartsburg. I just dont have a lot of confidence in him, never have. And win or lose I think we need to stop making the same old mistakes that we do year after year and stop picking offensively starved teams. Gagner not being there has hurt us, but still this team needs to score goals.

Sweden, USA, Canada, Russia....If Canada and Russia make it to the SF's they should be can't miss games!!

There will be no more 3rd period collapses from this team, the Finns wont stop us, the US wont stop us, and if we get the Swedes in the gold we won't shake when pulling the trigger this time.

I don't know. Sweden is a big team. If Canada meets Sweden again, I think Sweden will win. They look bigger than Canada.

um....no, they had a fantastic third period. Canada was better in the first, and I would say it was equal in the 2nd.

Totally agree, Sweden looked weak in the first half of the game, had big problems getting the puck out of their own zone. I believe Sweden is really overrated after the win against the canadians and I would be surprised if they took a medal but extremely happy.

Sweden overated????? No, Canada is overated! Sweden was good in whole game against Canada. But in the third perod, they was GREAT!!!!!! USA and Sweden are the favorites right now!

I think yarre is slightly too pessimistic, Canada are still the favourites but we showed they're beatable at their "own" tournament.

I don't think I am being pessimistic, just fair, and I think we already knew our team was beatable. I am not sure if we are the favourites, based on the reaction of alot of posters.

Maybe I am too pessimistic, I think that this swedish team is good but I just don't trust them when having the puck in their own zone. I think that it can be exploited.

We shall see, I am going to be very happy if we can grab a medal... And someone has to be somewhat modest amongst the swedes, I can't go into a thread about canada where there isn't a whole bunch of swedes shooving that one game in their face...

It's a toss up between Canada, USA, and Sweden, really. I think Sweden has a slight edge, and that comeback win against Canada will have undoubtedly given them a huge boost of confidence.

Of those three teams, I think Canada will have the toughest time. Here's hoping we take it though :).

Canada as 3 time defending champions are definatly still the team to beat, but the Americans imo have been the most impressive thus far. I think the USA/Can semi-final is the defacto gold medal game once again.

I agree with most of that...worst refereeing I've seen thus far..

Being a Canadian the Russian offence just scared me..

At this point I have to give it to the Swedes, followed by the States. Anyone who thinks Canada is still the favourite obviously hasn't been paying attention.

Canada has to be the favorite. Sure, they're not playing as well as they could, but what's scary about that is they're still winning games fairly easily other than the one game they lost that took an amazing 3rd period comeback.

If Sweden beats Russia, Team Sweden will hear lots of "Reaching the final is the greatest performance in a very long time" from media and get overly pleased with their performance. Sweden could possibly make another "Canada-game" against the russians, but I doubt they will do two such games in a row. So if Sweden reaches the final, it's doesnt matter what country they face, they will underperform. At least thats my biggest worry :)
