NHL 08 - Disc Unreadable

What can be done? Can I send it to EA and get an exchange? I bought it from the EA Store.

Try it on another system first...I thought it was the game but its actually my 360.

For me it is the disc.

For the most part, this has solved the problem for me:

1. Turn the 360 on, open the disc tray
2. Sign out of your Xbox profile, sign back in
2. Insert NHL disc/close tray; let game load

To be quite honest, I actually think it might be because the disc is scratched... :cry:

my xbox just crapped out on me and started doing the Unplayable Disc ****, it works with all dvds i've tried (about 6) so i just sent a repair request to microsoft and told them i got red ring of death. Hopefully they'll give me a new system.

Sometimes my nhl 08 freezes during gameplay and says it's unreadable, doesn't happen a lot but enough to frustrate me.

So far it seems the best way to avoid disc read errors (assuming the disc isn't dirty) is to load the dashboard first (eject the game) and then close the tray. My only freezes have come when I haven't done that, and to date it's not frozen once when I did the open/close tray.

youre crazy, just because one game has a problem you are gonna mope and not play all the other games that have no problems at all

yeah one game has problems so the system is all of the sudden shoddy and has lousy products, that is really sound logic, all the other games you have or have played that have had no issues or problems are crap all of the sudden?

This is a system issue because I get this when I go to play games as well on occasionly but after a few tries it will load the game. I get this when I wanna play nhl 2k7, halo 3, gears of war.

Make sure the disc is 100% clean; If theres tiny scuffs or scratches; take it to a store or buy one of those DVD wizard things. They seem to work really well. If the problem still happens; It could honestly be the game.

If nothing else is working; Call microsoft; tell them you got the red rings; 3 weeks later you'll get another *new* system hopefully; They sometimes send out refurbed ones with problems. But if you get one; Just call again and they will send you a brand new one the second time. It's a long process;

And i am a little upset over the problems some people have. But I've had mine since launch and have yet to have any problems. I've taken it apart; Broken warranty; Painted it; Dropped it; And it stlil works fine..

How do I do it? (I have a working 360 also so if I fix this 360 I'm going to sell it to some poor person who got screwed by microsoft on the warranty as I have with this 360. I'm also going to sell it for what I paid for my new one, 220$, that's if I can fix it).

Anyone know of a place that replaces 360 dvd-roms in montreal?

OMG thank you so much. I think a software update may have been what originally made my 360 stop playing 360 games. This clears all updates. I may be able to fix it now.
