The Swiss lose 3-1 and now have to get results against the Slovaks and Danes. It would be a shame if they go down. The Kazakhs on the other end have really put in a good showing. They will need to win another relegation game to stay up but they have a better chance now than one would have given them entering this event.

The relegation round started today since the Slovaks and Danes played too.

It is good to see these results. I like it when the underdog wins. The Kazakhs have been stronger than expected I would say.

What an embarassing loss for the Swiss Team. :shakehead

Players stated that they didn't show enough respect and underestimated the opponent. I hope they learn something, because the Swiss Team is not in the position for doing so.

how can you underestimate an opponent at the WJC? that's really a shame. and now it might be too late to turn things around. switzerland didn't impress me so far. denmark and slovakia aren't very good, but hard to play. doubtful that switzerland will win both games. very doubtful.

After the OTL vs Finland and the 2-4 loss vs. US I gues they thought they'll beat the Kazachs easily. They didn't play their game (speed and defense first play), they wanted to do fancy stuff, and after the 2nd period, they finally realised this is not the way (also I think the coach used harsh words in the locker room...). But then it was too late, the dominated the 3rd, but were stopped by the Kazach goalie and the old habit swiss players don't score goals.

I think they try to have a good game today vs the Russians, and they'll beat the Dans and Slovaks closely, if they stick with the game plan defense first.
