AfroThunder396 12-30-2007, 02:15 PM Near the end of practice, Sutter pulled Clarkson aside and tied a white towel around the shaft of his stick, just above the blade. “At times, he likes to skate around, using his stick like a flag pole and he might as well have a flag on it,” Sutter said.
“He was just trying to teach me to keep my stick down on the ice,” Clarkson said.
Sutter is awesome.
Devils9789 12-30-2007, 02:17 PM Hahahahaha that is awesome.
Classic Devil 12-30-2007, 02:17 PM :biglaugh: Oh man, Sutter is great. Best acquisition in a long time.

fortheloveof666 12-30-2007, 02:22 PM :biglaugh: gotta love that
bense27 12-30-2007, 03:42 PM good stuff
IslesFanatic 12-30-2007, 03:51 PM That's ****ing classic!
CamDegs13 12-30-2007, 04:06 PM :biglaugh: Clarkson knows it's all jsut good fun.
guyincognito 12-30-2007, 04:13 PM Poor Sutter. Everyone thinks he's a mortician, he just has a dry sense of humor. This and the Asham thing are hilarious. He kinda gave himself up, though, when he had a big smile on his face after the Mottau fight.

i thought after the 5-0 loss to the pens when he made all the players except marty and weekes ride the stationary bikes was teh best
TB Sheets 12-30-2007, 06:24 PM That's funny.
Now if he could only get Clarkson to stop diving so badly. He's going to get a Sean Avery reputation soon.

What? Don't think I've seen him dive once. He's sure on his ass a lot though...
Richer's Ghost 12-30-2007, 08:08 PM Clarkson doesn't dive. :shakehead
He's on the ice because he's throwing his weight around so much and gets off balance but he has never pulled up his legs to 'dive' once in all the games I've seen.
I tell ya, first Langenbrunner is a crybaby to the refs, now Clarkson dives. What's next - Brylin's a goon taking cheapshots?
Game Breaker 12-30-2007, 09:09 PM Clarkson doesn't dive. :shakehead

I can point you to two times in the game against Buffalo where Clarkson took Sean Avery-worthy dives. Like bump-me-a-little-and-I swan-dive-type dives. You'd see them and be embarrassed for how bad they were. I think he's on his ass a lot because he's sending himself there. One of them was just before the end of the 2nd period I think. The second was in the third period.
I love the guy. He's got heart and grit and hockey sense, but he needs to be careful to avoid a reputation.
Rochester22 12-31-2007, 02:22 AM Is it just me or does Clarkson look like Sean Avery?
thefiestygoat 12-31-2007, 03:21 AM Brylin and Gionta are goons!
Hey, Gionta did have that fight with Marchant November 09, 2002! :sarcasm:
Seriously though, if anyone has that fight, can I get a copy? Been searching all over for it!

That's awesome, "...and DiPietro shoots the puck down on Brodeur as a sign of sportsmanship, giving him the shutout puck"
Richer's Ghost 12-31-2007, 02:31 PM geez... ok next thing you know Brodeur will skate down on the powerplay and score a goal from the point!
(find that video)

I'm still waiting for that day. Brodeur came out of the net last night to hit the puck away from a charging islander, I was hoping he would get a shot on net LOL. Then I can tell all the Luongo fans that Marty can shoot as well as play goal :)
Theres no rule that says a Goalie can't make a slapshot on the opponent's goal is there? Could be the answer to our lacking Offense.
"He stops goals and he scores goals. What can't Marty do?!"

Almost positive the goalie is not allowed to handle the puck beyond his own zone, I don't remember if it's the redline or blueline, but it's one of those.

I think that as well.. Always have that talk with the boss at my work

yeah...I'm almost positive the goalie can't touch the puck once he crosses the red line
cmccallum 12-31-2007, 03:04 PM Hey do whatever you have to do to get the guy to keep his stick down. It works and helps his game so we'll see how it impacts his game.
David Puddy 12-31-2007, 03:11 PM yeah...I'm almost positive the goalie can't touch the puck once he crosses the red lineGoalies aren't allowed to go across the center line unless they are going to their bench to come off for an extra attacker in the second period on a delayed penalty call. Goalies can touch the puck in their own half of the neutral zone.
Brodeur did handle the puck last season as he was skating off on a delayed penalty against the opposition.

But it would count right if Brodeur shot it from behind the blue line and it goes in?

yeah, he can handle the puck in any way past the blue line and before the red line and it's fine. he could even pick up an assist if he wanted to.
But he just can't touch or cross the redline, as I understand it.

Instead of throwing a bench on the ice, he will fling Gionta. Wait and see...:sarcasm:
MoonDragn 01-02-2008, 11:12 AM I wish Sutter would make them practice shooting a puck into a mail/parcel tube.. That would help their accuracy.
