Title says it all. Law did an amazing job of a GDT on the isles board, http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=459381. I'm too lazy to do my own. No word yet on whether Rachunek plays.

Encouraging Stats:
The Devils are tied for 3rd in the league with 8 come from behind wins (other team scores first goal). They are 8-10-2 (40% win also 3rd). When scoring the 1st goal, they have 13 wins, which is Tied-12th in the league (13-3-1, 76.5% 9th in NHL).

Their PK has also risen to a decidedly average 81.9%, 16th in the NHL.

Worrying Stat:
The Devils PP is ranked 28th at 13.8%.

Patrik Elias will miss tonight's game against the Islanders after tweaking his groin in Friday's 2-1 shootout win over Buffalo. Devils coach Brent Sutter said he found out earlier today that Elias would be unavailable against the Isles.

"He's sore. That's all I know," Sutter said. "Too sore to play, obviously."

Sutter planned to move Rod Pelley up to play in Elias' spot between Dainius Zubrus and Brian Gionta at least for the start of the game because he didn't want to shake up his other two lines. Left wing Mike Rupp will dress on the fourth line with right wing Arron Asham with the three centers rotating between them. The Devils will also go with seven defensemen again.

Islanders goalie Rick DiPietro will miss second game in a row with a left knee sprain. Wade Dubielewicz will start in his place.

Dammit! Our best forward is out tonight.....

Hopefully Pelley can come in and replace him respectfully. We need these divisional points. The Isles must be beaten tonight!

Absolutely agree. One of the reasons farm teams exist is if a player is injured to bring someone up.

It's because we have Mike "Mr. Useless" Rupp and 8 freaking defenseman up at the same time, and so someone has to go on IR (I think that means 7 days) for there to be a callup. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Didn't make the powerplay much better? He was the best powerplay quarterback the Devils have ever have.

I'd like to think that under Sutter's system Gomez and Rafalski could really thrive. The offense largely struggled last year because of Julien and injuries. Hey, if Madden and Pandolfo could be producing offensively more than they did last year, I think that Gomez and Rafi could too.

This is a lot bigger game than the Devils seem to believe! They need to wake the **** up in the third!! The Isles are not far behind and other teams in our division are winning tonight.

The Devils have to focus on the Atlantic Division crown, because that's the only playoff-guarantee a team will get. The East is so tight, anything but a division crown can result in us missing the playoffs.

Devils need to get their forechecking in check again. That was a nifty little play to get the goal, and hopefully Parise will feel the burn again to get more shots in this 3rd. Let's be realistic here; Devils can't take anymore penalties in the slightest, they need to actually a good set up and start cycling as quickly as possible.

I'm hoping for some msart hockey by this team when this 3rd period starts.
