After the way this season started, it's great (and amazing) to see that we are #1 in the East in GA. Move over, Rags! :handclap:

Now if we can get some offense going, we'll be all set.

Just more or less pointing out that as bad as we were for the first 6 weeks, we passed you in all the important categories, including points.

I agree with this 100%.

Being in 1st in December is nothing to brag about. But considering where we came from, and how everyone wrote us off in November, its understandable how we are excited again.

I still have my doubts on this team but what the heck, it's a good feeling!

I find it kind of ironic though that the highest scorer on your team was the ex-devil player.

And as bad as the Rangers have been over the past month they are still only 3 points back of the Debbies. There is a long way to go and anything can happen. I do think it will come down to last week, possibly the last game of the year which is Rangers @ Devils to decide the division. And considering how tight the East has been so far, six points seperating 2nd and 13th, winning the division will be huge.

If there is one thing that i have learned over the past decade is that you can never write off the Devils. Especially when Brodeur is on his game. They are the poster child for the saying "Never Say Never."

You NJ traitor! ;) Now that thats out of the way. Thats true, the Rangers are only 3 points behind us, but we don't have the big offensive power that is Jagger, Shannahan etc. It was expected for the Rangers to dominate the division, not the Devils.

We don't have that offensive power either!!!!! If we had it we would be challenging Ottawa for #1 in the East and still be leading the Atlantic. I have lost count of how many games were lost due to lack of offense and lack of a PP to be more exact.

Don't give me that! You guys have Jagr, Shannahan, Gomez and Drury. Plus defensemen like Rozsival Straka and Girardi chipping in points.

Oh we have the guys, i am not denying that. The guys just aren't putting up the numbers that they should be. Jagr has 9 goals. Hardly the output the Rangers expected and need from him. Drury has not given us Rangers fans much to cheer about yet and the fact that Shanny leads the team with 12 goals is nothing to brag about. Ironicly, and much to my surprise, our best forward so far has been Gomez. I was fully expecting him to follow in the footsteps of most of the former Devils that have crossed the river and do next to nothing for the Rangers. So like i said, if the Rangers were living up to the expectations of being an offensive juggernaut, they would be in a much better position than they are.

Shanahan ;) not "Shannahan" nor Shanananahana or something, lol.

Rangers are starting to show some signs of life so hold on to your hats. Anyway congrats on first, but it's still way to early to start dancing in the streets :).

but the Devils aren't dominating the division, not by a long shot.

The Atlantic is just like the rest of the NHL, parity reigns supreme with how the game is played these days and we've seen almost every team go through their winning and losing streaks and as somebody pointed out it's something like 6 pts that separates 2nd from 13th!!!:amazed:

As for the Devils GAA, yes they did a great job in turning it around but just like the Rangers it came at the expense of their goals scored wher you guys have joined the Rangers in the basement in the eastern conference and niether team is going anywhere unless that changes.

You know, Shanahan started out as a Devil too. He produced no matter where he went.

I didn't mean we were dominating, just that the Rangers were all hyped to dominate the division. They haven't lived up to the hype yet.

Some parity, but look at teams like Ottawa and the Red Wings who are way way ahead of everyone else.

Not total parity.
