Make a "Remake" of their old systems? (NES, SNES, Genesis, Saturn, DC, N64, etc)

Make a remake of NES (a CD version)..and include the top 50 games on a CD.

Charge $200 for it.

Am I stupid to think it would sell a huge amount?

Hell, all they are making is a easy to make system that will play NES type games from a CD or cartridge...whatever. (cant be that hard right to transfers crappy NES graphics onto a CD? The Emulators do it quite easily)

Eh...just a dumb idea by me...but i think they could rake in quite a few bucks with it.

Probably has something to do with the rights.

1. They don't own the rights to all the games.

2. This sort of thing does exist. Some developers make discs that have many old games, others release mini systems that plug into the TV with preset games.

The Wii's Virtual Console, XBLA, and the PS Store already do some of that, PCs and ROM download sites do the rest.

And I like my PSP, as it can do many emulators, and can play up to Mario 64 decently, beyond that, I'll use my PC.

Easy answer but $$$$.

Most of these companies already re-release their old games ad nauseum (Nintendo being a very guilty party of this). And the reason that they do it is that they can make so much money off of it for a couple reasons: They already have the game code so they aren't spending money to create the game, and to distribute them again costs them very little ($0 if they do it electronically like the virtual console) so the revenue is virtually all profit. By releasing a new system, they are having to invest a bunch of money that they don't have to now.

Emulators, get an xbox moded and you have snes, sega, ps1..etc all on it with emulators. Why the hell would people want to buy the old school stuff at that price?

If they could make it cheap and sell it for cheap, maybe. Like 2 controllers, the gun, the snes console and 2 cd's containing 50 games each (100) for 149.99...some idiot will buy it. Redesign the console as well...yeah.
