XBOX Live question

I bought a subscription to XBOX Live a while ago, but I don't have the little converter thing anymore. For the 360, they cost $100.

My question is, does it work to just plug an ethernet cable, from your source of internet (router or whatever) into the 360? Would that work?

Or are there any other ways to save the $100?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not entirely sure what $100 thing you are talking about but you can plug a ethernet cable into the 360 and it will work. I don't have a router and have to do that whenever I want to get on and download some demos.

That is just the wireless adapter if you want to hook your Xbox up to your wireless router in situations where is not feasible to have a cable. If you can plug straight into your router/internet source then by all means do that and avoid the $100 overpriced wireless add on.
