I hope that Weight can help calm this team down, help out on the ice, and teach DiPenta how to skate. If he can do at least one of those things I'd be a happy camper.

I agree with many here and as I have posted before, Giggy is starting to look like his fortune, fame, and demise is being created by the defense that surrounds him.

Our defense WILL breakdown at times (recently many times), but that's why he gets paid the big bucks. He's got to save the ones that count. When he saves those, and it will come, the team will respond to that in a positive way.

Today in my mind, Giggy wears the 'C' and 'Neids' to come up big. Nearly half of the season is over.

From the reports I've read, he wasn't too happy about it. Kinda had his arm twisted to do it.

That said, he could be very good for us.

I've been doing a lot of fast forwarding of games this season. Pretty much from the second period on in this one.

I wouldnt be too concerned about Weights initial comments following the trade. As an older, veteran guy who probably hoped to finish it up in St. Louis, yeah, he's not going to be pleased with being dealt. However, like others have said, he's a gamer, and he'll bring his best to the team. Whatever that's worth at this point in his career.

Sorry to see Andy go, but he was never going to be our number-one center anymore, with Getzlaf's ascension and Andy's production sans Selanne. St. Louis is a better fit for him at this point. I would have preferred to get something more for him, but I think Weight will do alright for us. On the plus-side, they found a way to keep Schneider AND Niedermayer, giving the Ducks one incredible defense on-paper. They have to find a way to make the playoffs, and that may mean making another move. But, as sub-par as Giguere is playing at this point, I'll confidently take him, our D, and our Cup-winning forwards in the playoffs.

Miller was only on the ice for the 1st powerplay goal. He had an alright game. He didn't do too bad on the PK last night, he'd actually supplanted Moen as the 4th forward. Nothing good, nothing bad.

DiPenta was on ice for 3 of the 5 goals. Beauchemin was on the ice for all of them. Rough night for those 2. I bet Beauchemin can't wait until Scotty's back.

I have not felt Beauchemin has been playing well for 10 games or so. He seems to be trying to be too offensive and jumps up a lot more this year and gets caught out of position.

Surprisingly, O'Donnell has been very solid and deserves some props for his great defensive playing this year.

This game just seemed like a cluster**** waiting to happen. Once we get Weight and Niedermayer back I'm sure everything will be a little more cohesive, especially against the Sharks, the Ducks always play hard against the Sharks.
