I know I have not post here in a (very big )while but I've continued my introduction to soccer. I don't have a lot of knowledge yet but i'm better than a couple months ago and I really love the game.:)

I still think it could use a little more offence...

Here are twio questions that may be easy for you to answer.

1- Do clubs MUST realease their players when they are needed with their national team ?( I know in hockey teams will not release players for the World juniors)

2- What are the standards of a good offensive season ? 20 , 25 goals ? For strikers or for midfielders ?

Thank you. For the rest I guess I will continue reading and watching.

1) Yes. Clubs often refuse to do so because they feel the player in question needs a rest, but unless the nation's football union agrees, he has to join the national team.

2) Depends per league. I'd say that the topscorers in the following league usually end up with:

Eredivisie: 30
Premierleague: 25
Ligue 1: 20
Serie A: 25
Primera Division: 25
Bundesliga: 25

15 is usually considered decent pretty much everywhere. 20 And your class; more and you've enjoyed a great season.

Midfielders usually don't get more than 10/15. Some exceptions are Lampard, Ronaldinho, Juninho, kaka, Sneijder, van der Vaart.

1 I think they pretty much have to comply. There are a lot of presidents/chairman/managers out there though who aren't thrilled with this.

2 I'd say it depends on a number of factors like the position, league, team tactics and even style of the player. I'd say in a "big" league that 20 goals is a good offensive season for a striker. Still if you look at a guy like Berbatov last season, he had 12 goals and 11 assists in 30 starts for Spurs in the league and that was a good offensive season. I'd say that for a midfielder 10 goals is a good offensive season.

Why is John Terry so hated in England ?

Because he plays for Chelsea ?
